You don’t see that kind of dedication much anymore. The meal tasted like something crafted with pride, not rushed. I gladly waited, and it was worth every minute.
A rare gem that deserves support. I’ll definitely be back.
My wife and I shared the Hey Chicken Wings Box (Original), Hey Spicy Chicken Sandwich, Hey Onion Rings and the Hey Mozzarella Sticks. All the food came out super prompt and piping hot! I loved all the seasonings that we were able to add (Cumin, Sweet Plum, Garlic and Szechuan), plus all the sauces. Unfortunately they didn’t have the Hey Chicken Sauce that day so we couldn’t try it.
The chicken wings were super juicy and perfectly crispy. The sandwich was also very good and the meat wasn’t dry at all. Overall, we had a great experience and can’t wait for the OC location to open up soon so we’re closer!
Next, the unique cuttlefish ink whole chicken. I absolutely had to try it. Now, don’t be put off by the striking black color; it’s not burnt at all! The crispy cuttlefish ink batter delivers flavor, and the chicken inside is super moist and tender. I went with the Original flavor to start, but they also offer Szechuan, Cumin, Garlic, and Sweet Plum if you’re feeling adventurous. It’s a bit smaller than your average whole chicken, making it perfect for a solo feast. Plus, they provide gloves, so you can dive in without worrying about messy fingers.
I also tried the popcorn chicken, and I’m so glad I did. It was wonderfully crispy and golden. I skipped the sauces this time, but they’ve got some tasty options like Hey Chicken sauce, Honey Mustard, Sweet Chili, and Ranch if you want to dip.
The service here is super warm, friendly, and helpful. The interior is bright and inviting, with comfortable seating. While there aren’t many tables, it’s clean and cozy, making it a great spot to enjoy a meal. Oh, and it’s right next to Duke Bakery, so you can treat yourself to something sweet afterward.
Hey Chicken is a must for anyone who loves fried chicken with a fun twist!
The location in Rowland Heights seems a bit smaller since the space is shared with a bakery and some photo booths but I think it’s a smart way to utilize the space. From the looks of it, Hey Chicken has a lot of to-go orders. There’s a few tables to sit down if you want to eat at the restaurant.
The combo specials stood out to me since the meal comes with a choice of sides and a soda. I was recommended the spicy chicken sandwich and I really enjoyed it, pretty well flavored and crispy. The popcorn chicken and fries went really well with the cumin and sweet plum dipping powder they had. I love the powder but there is a small charge on them. Onion rings are my favorite sides when it comes to fried options so I had to order it. As for the chicken wings, they were crispy on the outside, but still juicy on the inside!
So I didn’t realized they had whole fried chicken on the menu but I’ll definitely want to try it out next time along with the cuttlefish ink one!
The store is located in Diamond Plaza and shares a space with Duke’s Bakery. There are a few tables and chairs to dine in.
The New Orleans grilled wings are well-marinated, with a sweet flavor and a hint of spiciness. The meat is very tender, and the aroma is so good—it’s truly tasty!
Overall, I just love this place! The taste is on par, and the portion sizes are just as generous as the local offerings.
Didn’t realize this is in the Diamond plaza with the parking challenge o_o’ Luckily found a spot in the underground garage without too much time. Got to the restaurant and ordered from the kiosk. Ordered 4 pieces (drum/thigh) and a side order of nuggets.
It took some time for the food to come out, I guess they do have to fry each order from scratch which is understandable. The food came out after 20 minutes and was piping hot! The skin was super crispy but not greasy, and the meat is tender and juicy. Overall perfectly fried! The chicken pieces were quite large, with the skin/breading it was very filling. We didn’t get to the nuggets at all.
The restaurant is bright and inviting, more than half the space is devoted to the bakery part, and there is also some fun Photo Booth thing. Customer foot traffic was nonstop while we ate, definitely a popular spot!
The fried chicken is superb, skin is crispy and the meat is nice and juicy. The chicken wrap were packed with lots of meat. They provided disposable gloves too, which was a nice touch.
Love their popcorn chicken as well, each piece is fried to a perfect crisp, and you can hear that satisfying crunch with every bite. The chicken inside is juicy and flavorful, and I just can’t have enough!
