Herrick House and The Mulberry Cafe is a charming and memorable spot, especially with the unique idea of turning a residential-style house into a cozy café space. The atmosphere feels warm and welcoming the moment you walk in, giving it a homelike comfort that stands out from typical cafés. The soup and panini were both delicious — fresh, flavorful, and clearly prepared with care.

It’s the kind of place where you can sit for a while, enjoy a well-made meal, and appreciate the creative concept behind the setting. Overall, a very enjoyable stop with great food and a unique, inviting environment.

Was an amazing breakfast and they even had gluten free options (including bread) for my sister. Everything was fresh, delicious. I couldn’t recommend this place enough!!! Cute little gift shop as well.

We had a great lunch at Herrick House. It was an easy stop while on a cycling day trip. The service was fast and friendly and the food was fabulous! We also appreciated the clean, and may I say beautiful, bathroom after a long ride. There was even a bike rack out front for our bikes.

Found this gem on the way to Ludington, a must stop when heading to the west side of the state. Staff very friendly and attentive. Food fresh and delicious.
Pictured quiche Loraine with scone and fresh fruit cup.

Went to this restaurant on a whim via Google maps search. It looked cool because of the Victorian style old house that this was set in and was not disappointed. Menu was plentiful had great options. Many of the things were made in house by hand. I had dietary restrictions and the choices staff recommended were top. My kid had pancakes and the serving was enough that she did not finish. I had an omelette that was excellent and came with a handmade tart strawberry jam, that was very good. Next time I’m in the area I will definitely attempt to go by again and visit.

This felt like eating breakfast at a friends home. The environment was cozy and inviting. It was very well taken care of and super clean. Mary was our waitress and was so kind!!

We had breakfast there and the food was absolutely delicious. We couldn’t believe how good our jam and toast was. Highly recommend!

This is so much more than food. It’s an experience! We will definitely be back next time we are in town.

Pie selection is impressive. Pie crust is buttery and flakey. Rhubarb could be a tad tarter, perhaps less sugar? Also, rhubarb a little crunchy, perhaps out of season? Still, a total delight with vanilla ice cream.
Hot cocoa is excellent with properly thick whipped cream. You’ll need a spoon.

The quiche plate was very good. There was also a small store in the front of the building. Bathrooms were clean!

Such a charming restaurant with very friendly servers and great food! I had the Michigan Harvest Salad and it was amazingly good. Fresh, crisp greens, walnuts, cherries, turkey and a delicious maple vinegarette dressing. There wasn’t anything left on the plate after I ate it. Then I ordered a slice of homemade cherry almond pie, omg it was so good. If you are looking for a great meal and or dessert, check the Herrick House out. You will not be disappointed.

We’ve stopped for lunch here many times on the way home from Traverse City, but doubt we’ll be back. And they are so busy, I doubt they’d miss the business. The food value isn’t there anymore, prices are high for average food, and the service could be better. As one of the other reviews mentioned, it would look more professional if the servers at least had matching t shirts or maybe aprons to be able to tell them apart from the customers.
