Where has this place been all my life?! After four years of driving by Heroes Pizza & Pub in Winder, I finally stopped in—and let me tell you, I’m kicking myself for not going sooner.
The food? Unreal.
The salad was HUGE, crisp, and fresh—lettuce, cherry tomatoes, onions, crunchy croutons, all topped with the most perfectly balanced dressing.
My spaghetti and meatballs? I ordered the kid’s size and it was still massive. Pasta cooked just right, marinara full of flavor with a little garlic kick, meatballs that literally melted in my mouth, and melted cheese baked on top that made the whole dish sing.
The garlic knots… soft, buttery, with fresh garlic sprinkled on top. And when I asked for Alfredo on the side, I expected a little cup. Nope. Out came a whole big bowl of HOMEMADE Alfredo, creamy and rich. It was so good I bought an extra one to take home.
Ken’s Italian sausage sandwich was insane—juicy sausage, marinara, melted cheese covering it, on bread that was soft inside but sturdy outside. He couldn’t finish it, so half went in a to-go box. Same with me and my spaghetti.
The service? Even better.
Our waitress was friendly and on top of things, and when I had some questions, she went straight to the owner. The owner herself came out and sat with us for 15–20 minutes. She was sweet, down-to-earth, and you could tell she loves what she does. Her husband was at work, but just chatting with her made the whole experience feel like we were family sitting at their table, not just customers.
This place is the closest thing to home-cooked Italian I’ve ever had without being in someone’s kitchen. The food was beyond words, the people were amazing, and I can’t understand why it wasn’t packed at lunch. Y’all are sleeping on Heroes—WAKE UP.

We ordered take out about 3 weeks ago. The staff was very friendly, and I appreciated all of the military and officer memorablia throughout the restaurant. I didn’t like the overly Trump memorabilia as I feel neutral politics serves everyone. The pizza was not good and not cheap. The crust was tasteless and overall, just bad. Maybe we caught it on a bad night, bu5 I wouldn’t recommend eating pizza here. I can’t speak for anything else on the menu.

We just discovered Hero’s and we are so excited to make this a regular spot! Having 2 of our children in the military makes it all the more special to have found a place we can go to feel the military love! The pizza was great! Meatball sub.. AMAZING! Can’t wait to try more menu items!!!

We arrived almost near closing. Lauren was awesome and dealt with our nonsense with no problems. Food didn’t disappoint. It was amazing as always. An all around great experience.

This place is by far the best around. The food has been consistently good each time I’ve been. I usually get the calzone which is huge for what you would expect, and my daughter gets the chicken alfredo which is also really good. The portions are definitely more than filling. We always bring some home. Pretty cost friendly for what you receive. I give this establishment 500 Siskel and Ebert ‘s up

We had the pleasure of having lunch there after a memorial motorcycle ride. Even tho, they were very busy, we had excellent service!! The food was hot and tasty and the menu had lots of variety. They also have beer on tap and tasty adult beverages. Great atmosphere, great staff, great food. Next time we’re nearby, it’s a definite must stop.

Is a good place for meeting experienced people who you can learn from. But I think it needs som renovation. The layout is fantastic because it has separate the restaurant area from the karaoke but it still needs some work to get done. And the kitchen needs improvement.

Ordered a large plain cheese, traditional crust. Excellent cracker like crispy crust! Good sauce and a decent amount of cheese. They had my order ready ahead of when they promised. I got there early and they offered me something to drink, which was super awesome. I like the little Bar/pizza pub atmosphere. Really friendly people. They just seem like the type of people that have a lot of friends because of how outgoing there are. I live in Jefferson, but I’m definitely going to make the trek out here more often to get this pizza. Can’t wait to try something else off the menu. So hard to find a good place that you want to repeatedly go to.
