cute little spot walk in & the smell of goodness hits ya! didn’t realize that they offer quite a few different food options other than just donuts – I will definitely try them for lunch soon! Donuts were fresh & delicious as well as my kolache..yummie shockingly the strawberry donut was my absolute favorite! & the young lady at the counter was patient & sweet!

Ok, so we have eaten Hero a few times, since coming to Trussville but it’s never been a “go-to”. Today, we grabbed some breakfast. We were able to order online and then drive thru to pick up. The food was hot and ready, upon arriving so it was very efficient. As someone who is not a huge breakfast fan I absolutely LOVE that the full menu is available all day. I ordered the chicken sandwich and my husband a burger. We also got the loaded tots with nuggets on top to share. Holy moly. I cannot possibly convey the flavors! Everything was absolutely delicious!!!! How in the world do you guys make these tots? I’ve never had anything like them! What was previously our once per year stop quickly became our favorite breakfast option in town this morning. Can’t wait to try additional items from the menu!!!!

⭐⭐ A Very Disappointing First TIME!
Our first visit here was, honestly, a 2 out of 10 experience. When we walked in, I told the young lady at the counter this was our first time. I asked which burger was the donut burger, and she said they didn’t have anything like that. My husband asked a few minutes later, and suddenly there was talk of a “secret menu.” Long story short, we ordered them… and they should be renamed the “DO-NOT” burger.
I placed my order and clearly explained what I didn’t want (no pickles, no onions). My husband ordered his with no toppings except mayo, ketchup, and mustard. I ordered for my daughter and mom as well. Easy enough, right? So we thought.
Drinks & Service
The tea was spoiled!! When I mentioned it, the staff member said, “We made that this morning, but we close at 4, so we’re not remaking it.”
I can’t drink carbonated sodas, so that left me with no drink at all.
Food Presentation
When the food came out, the plates didn’t even look appetizing.
My husband’s burger didn’t come out with the rest of ours.
My daughter’s and mom’s meals looked “okay” at best.
And mine? My “burger” was literally a donut cut in half, flipped inside out, with a cheese patty stuck between it. Nothing else, no lettuce, no tomato, nothing.
When my husband’s plate finally arrived, I asked for lettuce and tomato for mine. The response?
“That burger doesn’t come with that,” followed by her walking off. That would’ve been useful information when I ordered ♀️.
Taste
We all took a bite, hoping the flavor would redeem it. It did not.
Every bun and donut tasted like some kind of sourdough, extra heavy on the sour, and the whole meal was just…!! bad. My husband’s burger looked like a greasy mess, and the rest of us made the same disappointed face after one bite.
Final Thoughts
This was a horrible first & LAST experience from start to finish. I spent almost $50, and we’re leaving still hungry and very disappointed. I’m honestly being generous with two stars.

Visited the store on 12/21/25 while doing some Christmas shopping in Trussville. We ordered donuts and two chicken sandwich specials. The donuts were delicious! The fries were hot and crispy, no Ketchup needed. The chicken sandwich however, was very disappointing. It was overcooked and the sauce tasted like literal vomit. Seriously, it was like vomit. Neither of us could finish the sandwich’s and we ended up throwing them away. This is my second time visiting this location, so I’m not sure what happened between the first time I ate here and yesterday but I will not waste $20 again.

Super clean, friendly place! Possibly the best donuts I’ve ever had! The pistachio donuts were spectacular! Everything is made from scratch. The super minis were perfectly cooked and had just the right amount of honey drizzled over them. I had a sausage kolache, which was perfect. My buddy had the AG Power Plate, which was wonderfully presented with sliced tomatoes and avacado with a tasty fresh sauce. Can’t wait to come back!

Ordered loaded hash browns with egg over easy with xtra cheese sauce. Egg was way over done and no cheese sauce at all. I keep trying to give them a chance and I don’t know why. This isn’t first time so won’t be wasting money at this establishment anymore.

My wife wanted to stop in and try a doughnut, so we did and it was well worth the stop. Lots to choose from, and not just donuts but regular food as well. I myself am not a fan of filled donuts, but that said, The Banana Pudding Doughnut was off the chain! I absolutely love banana pudding and this donut combined two things I loved with the donut and the banana pudding filling. If you love banana pudding, you definitely need to try this! The wife has the Bread Pudding Doughnut and loved it as well. Definitely will have to go back and try more options, and carry a better appetite when we go! Give Hero Doughnuts a try if you are in the area, there’s something for everyone!
