We decided to try this place based on all the raving reviews. While it was pretty good for fast food, it wasn’t anything special or that we’d come out of our way for.

The shakes are yummy and flavorful. We also tried the sweet potato fries and the crinkle cut fries. As far as fries go, they were both good, but the amount they give you is so small, and the tray isn’t even full.

Overall, it wasn’t a bad experience, but it wasn’t anything special.

Cute nostalgic 50s-60s looking burger joint that has been remodeled and made nice inside.

The burgers are pretty decent, they’re made with a very thin (⅙lb) patty, so get the Hermie with 3! I appreciated the fact that they offered a cheddar cheese option instead of just American cheese.

I also tried the fry bread It was big and fluffy, unfortunately, it came with a little cup of margarine based sweet dipping spread instead of “real” butter.

Tell me why this Hermie’s burger is the best relationship I’ve ever had?!

I’m in Cedar City visiting my parents, and every single time I’m here I find any excuse to come back to Hermie’s. When I was living in Cedar myself, Hermie’s was one of my absolute go-to spots — and now that I live in Salt Lake City, it’s still the place I have to stop at whenever I’m back in town. It’s truly iconic.

Today I ordered the Twig ½-lb burger with extra shredded cheese and an extra American slice (because I fully commit to the cheese life), plus lettuce, tomato, and onion. This burger came out looking PHENOMENAL — thick, juicy, melty, fresh, crunchy, and perfectly toasted. Honestly, it gave “long-term partner energy.” Every single bite was a moment.

The fries were hot, golden, and super crispy — exactly how I remember them. And their fry sauce? Still one of my favorites. Creamy, tangy, and perfect with the fries. It’s the kind of fry sauce that reminds you why Southern Utah does it better.

Inside, Hermie’s has that classic retro drive-in vibe: red trays, checkered paper, cozy booths, and genuinely friendly service. It’s nostalgic in the best way and always feels like coming home.

If you’re in Cedar City, passing through, or visiting family like I am, do yourself a favor and stop at Hermie’s.

5/5 — I will always come back every visit.

I ordered the Hermie Burger (excellent), a small fry (crispy and well seasoned), a Reeses shake (mixed well with decent pieces of peanut butter cup), and a sweet potato fry (solid). The dining room is compact and cozy, and the Main Street Park is next door if you want to eat outside.

A lot of locals talk about Brad’s Food Hut, but don’t sleep on Hermie’s Drive In. They’ve got great food, helpful and friendly service, and the perfect small-town vibe you look for in a great drive in. I’ll absolutely be back.

A Hermie’s burger, all the way with the best sweet tater fries ever, is hard to beat. Even if one has to travel 3/4 the way across the United States to get to it.
The fry bread in the Navajo taco is amazingly fluffy and tender and portioned for a meal, no shrink-flation here!! We even had to get a to-go plate for our leftovers. Fair prices and amazing service from the owner herself during this momentous visit. Everyone was extremely satisfied in our group of 6. Even a local resident in Cedar City of five years was introduced to this gem on this visit. They have since returned to indulge and introduced others to the variety of options. Great job y’all!

We ordered a double cheese burger, a cheese burger, and a fried chicken plate. All the dishes were very good. The fries were very fresh with a delicious flaky chrunchy coating companied with their yummy house dip. The huge fried bread that came with the fried chicken platter was freshly fried and served with whipped butter. That was amazing on a cold day! The staff were very quick and nice. It was a wonderful fast food dining experience!

Decided to try this place on a visit to cedar city. We were greeted by a friendly staff who showed us what was on each burger, which was very helpful. The food was surprisingly good. Not just a fast food burger joint. The menu has something for everyone. Looking forward to eating there again.

Yum!!
Best Utah scones I have found in over 20 years!! We stop every time we are in the area.
It is next to a park incase you need to get the kids out and run them before the next stop.
It is in the downtown but runs parallel to the freeway. And the shakes….words cannot describe….
