Heritage India has excellent food at a reasonable price with good service on a cozy atmosphere. There is something for everybody. Have enjoyed going here for years – since they were located in Glover Park. The street food appetizers are a great way to try something outside the always excellent standby favorites. Aloo Tikki Chat was new to us and delicious especially the chickpeas that came with. Outstanding! If you want your hit of Chicken Tikka but not a whole mean, the appetizer hits the spot. We also enjoyed the Rogan Josh and tried something new – Baigan Mirchi Ka Saalan which ceased eggplant and jalepenos in a peanut and sesame sauce. Sounds strange? It was unusual for the American palate but really tasty. The restaurant was full and diners were all having a good time.

I’ve dined at Heritage over the years when it was located in different neighborhoods. Over the last few years my kids developed a taste for Indian food and this is our favorite spot in the city. We highly recommend the onion bhaji, chicken makhani, and samosas. The saag paneer, dal makhani, and naan are the best we’ve had. We try other Indian restaurants but we’re always comparing them to Heritage. Service is attentive. The space is fine, but nothing special.

Had an excellent meal last Friday at Heritage India. All of the food was superb – especially the Chicken Tikka (which also comes in an appetizer size) and the Aloo Tikki Chat appetizer (potato patties with spicy chickpeas, tamarind chutney, spicy cilantro sauce, and sweet yogurt). There are a few other Indian street food-type appetizers on the menu that also looked sounded very tasty, in addition to more traditional dishes as entrees. Portions were generous, and service was attentive, efficient, and friendly. Will definitely be back!

The restaurant is beautifully decorated with a charming Indian touch that creates a very inviting atmosphere. The food was excellent and easily one of the best Indian dining experiences I’ve had. The lamb chops were outstanding, incredibly tender and perfectly seasoned, hands down the best I’ve tasted. The shrimp was another favorite, with a wonderfully balanced and delicious flavor.
I also loved the presentation and portion sizes. The dishes were served over a candle-lit base, which kept the food warm while we took our time enjoying every bite. This is a thoughtful and unique touch. Overall, this place is definitely worth a visit, and I would highly recommend it.

came back after enjoying a fantastic birthday celebration here a few months prior. The group’s vegetarians were delighted with all the alternatives, and everyone enjoyed the cuisine. The portions were substantial but reasonably priced. In addition to answering our inquiries and explaining the different meals and their preparation methods, the staff was amiable and supportive. Anticipating our next visit!

Heritage India managed very well by the owners and offers a good selection of meats, fish and vegetarian foods. The appetizers are excellent and the service is very good. Decent list of wines as well -definitely recommended. I always come back.

This location is wonderful. I’ve now taken my kid here twice to celebrate her birthday, and both times have been absolutely amazing. The service has been excellent. The food is just that—amazing—and they will make customized dishes for you while taking your dietary needs into consideration. I’m eager to return because it was such a wonderful experience. If you want to be content and joyful, eat here and dine here as soon as possible.

Heritage was absolutely amazing! We were seated quickly and the service was extremely attentive. My water glass was often filled before it was halfway empty. They were super considerate of my gluten allergy, telling me what menu items were safe for me to eat. The food we have is delicious, garlic naan was perfectly buttery. The complementary papad and generous wine pour was a pleasant surprise. Overall, the ambience was nice. The ceilings were high and it still maintained a cozy vibes.

Great Indian eatery in Washington, DC! We had never been here before, although some friends had told us about it. Everything tasted great! They are really friendly and provide quick service. The cuisine is of incredible quality! Many tastes and fresh ingredients. At the conclusion of our dinner, they even gave us dessert. We are eager to return! This is the spot to get Indian food if you live in Washington, DC!
