Very long wait to order and longer to be served. 2 meals came and they were half done eating before the other 2 meals came. My meal was dry and overcooked. Another meal was very bland for a burger. The Bloody Mary was undrinkable. Left it. Hopefully after it’s open longer it will become more organized. Understaffed for sure

I love that this is open in our area! The steaks and burgers from their own farm are incredible and very reasonably priced. The broasted chicken is also very crispy, tasty, and well seasoned. We usually sit at the bar so the service is good, but I understand that some kinks are still need to be worked out with the waitstaff. All in all, opening a business and getting it running smoothly has growing pains so sit down and enjoy a drink and some good food while they get there.

I will start this review by stating that I want to support local restaurants and I do hope this establishment will improve as the building itself is very nice. However, the service at Hereford House is unfortunately disappointing. I went on a weekday evening and when I walked in I noticed the dining area lights were off and there was only one other person in the entire facility sitting at the bar. The sign said to wait to be seated. The gentleman behind the bar counter said “hi” to me when I came in (that was all he said, not “I’ll be there in a moment” or anything additional). I took that to mean he would be coming back to get me seated in the dining area or sending someone to attend to me. However I was not attended to and as others continued to come in and gather by the bar area their orders were taken and it was clear I would not be attended to until I intervened. Once I snagged the attention of the staff at the bar they had me seated. You would think they would’ve taken my drink right away, especially having considered I had already been there for a while, but instead it was the same scenario, they seated me and did not come back even as another member of my party came 10 minutes later. After chatting for another 15 minutes with my company, we realized we still hadn’t gotten our drink order taken. I noticed the same man from earlier was putting butter at the other empty tables but was acting like we were not there. We finally had to interrupt him to get our drinks. I strangely felt like I was imposing even though a customer should take priority over setting up other empty tables. (It was fairly quiet the whole time we were there so odd that adding butter to the tables was a priority.) There was no other soul in the dining room at that time and only 10 people at the bar who eventually moved to the dining area. Overall from the time I stepped in to the time we got our drinks it was about 30 minutes. And the total amount of people in the restaurant at any given time was 15. I do hope that going forward they will improve their service as we certainly need more local places to eat out. However, I am writing this review hoping that they will see it and take steps to either hire more attentive staff or implement the importance of promptly serving guests and making them feel welcomed and seating them promptly. I do believe they will need to make these changes to ensure that they are successful.

Arrived at 5:45 tonight. Had 6 others joining me for dinner. Bar lights were still on. Before I could get out of my truck, a nice waitress was just leaving and came up to me to let me know they were closing early. (Hours listed closed at 8pm) I told her I just drove an hour and half to get there specifically and my party would be joining me shortly. She went inside and spoke with someone. An older lady came out and said they were closing because nobody wanted to work. (Although there were 4 other employee cars parked there still) I also mentioned how far I traveled to eat there and this wasn’t a good way to start a new business. All she had to say was to come back next Sunday and thanked me, then proceeded to walk back inside. Meanwhile, during this conversation and within seconds of her walking back in, 3 other cars pulled up and wanted to eat as well. I called the others in my party and had them meet me at Behind Barrs instead. Everyone that was there decided to go to Behind Barrs as well. They literally lost out on 15-20 people who will most likely not return now. For a new business only being open a few weeks, you’d think they would be bending over backwards to attract clientele. Rumor has it, from others that we spoke with this evening, that the new owner, Rick, is very rude to the staff and swears at them also. Needless to say, we were looking forward to a nice dinner at a smalltown restaurant but it looks like I’ll be sticking to the corporate restaurants in the city. To the nice server that I originally spoke with, who at least attempted to have them stay open for us, you should start looking elsewhere to work. You deserve better.

I ordered a Stir Fry that only had twice as much sticky rice , little vegetables and chicken. Served cold. Second time I came for dinner and the steak was tuff and tallow fat. Will not return for a third time.

Noah, server, was great. Ordered Ribeye and it was tough, very disappointing since menu says aged Hereford. When questioned an older woman, she said they were out of Hereford and it came from another distributer. Didn’t offer a discount or apologize. I really hope they make it as I visit Greenwood periodically and would love to dine at a great place.

Discovered this place and have gone there at least four times in last six weeks. Great food, nice atmosphere and friendly smiling faces! What more can you ask for right? P.S. We are going for a fish fry tonight❤️

Glad to have this place in Greenwood. It’s a place that you want to visit when you’re not in a hurry and are looking for a nice leisurely dinner. Nice atmosphere.
