We live close to Herby’s Bar & Grill in Carlos and go there regularly because of its proximity but the bartenders are regularly less than polite and they nickel and dime u on everything. The food is sometimes good and other times just so so with stale canned veggies, etc. As an example I’m a picky eater so I’ll get a burger or another special without cheese or onions or tomato or mayo but I’ll ask for pickles or ranch on the side. The not too friendly bartenders charge me .75 cents for each and then deliver a small ranch cup only half full, so of course I have to ask for another. Then they charge me another .75 cents. I should probably get a discount since I’m leaving off the tomato and onions and cheese and mayo yet they charge me .75 cents for a few pickles. No place else in the area is this cheap. The other night I was there and asked the crabby young woman bartending what time the kitchen closes and she said 10 pm but I should order by 9:45. So I checked my phone and it was 9:43 pm so I ran up to quick get an order in and the crabby bartender said “the kitchen is closed I told u order by 9:45!” I showed her my phone and it said it’s 9:43. She said I was wrong and her computer showed 9:51. Must be “bar time” or whatever but she was still rude. Not to mention the kitchen was currently making burgers and fries for our friends who ordered 5 minutes before I did, so it’s not like the grill was off or something. I get that places are still recovering from Covid lock downs and it’s hard to find good help with low unemployment but that’s still no excuse for rudeness and nickel and diming the loyal customers. This place needs Bar Rescue or Restaurant Impossible to come in and train the staff, get rid of the carpet that stinks, etc. Much more respectful and fun at Angelina’s or Fired Up, etc. Oh and btw I contacted management with these concerns before making this post and simply got a thumbs up response on FB.
