I had a truly enjoyable dinner featuring the double-cut pork chop and the New York strip steak, and both were outstanding. The pork chop was thick, juicy, and cooked perfectly, with excellent flavor and tenderness throughout. The New York strip delivered exactly what you’d expect from a quality steakhouse cut—well-seared on the outside, rich and beefy on the inside, and incredibly satisfying.

The French onion soup deserves special mention. It was deeply flavorful, with a rich, well-developed broth and a generous layer of melted cheese that complemented the sweetness of the onions perfectly. Comforting, indulgent, and clearly made with care.

The atmosphere was another highlight—warm, relaxed, and very comfortable. It felt upscale without being stiff, making it easy to enjoy the meal at a leisurely pace. The overall setting, from the lighting to the table presentation, added to the experience rather than distracting from it.

Overall, this was a memorable dinner with excellent food, a comfortable atmosphere, and dishes that clearly reflect attention to quality and execution. A place I’d happily return to for another great steak and that French onion soup again.

Herbs & Rye absolutely lives up to the hype. I had the ribeye and it was exceptional. Perfectly cooked, rich, and full of flavor. The mac and cheese on the side was just as impressive. Creamy, indulgent, and the perfect complement to the steak.

The staff are incredible. Attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely welcoming. The cocktails are excellent, and the atmosphere is lively without feeling chaotic, which really elevates the whole experience.

It’s busy for a reason, so I’d definitely recommend making a reservation in advance. One of the best steakhouse experiences in Vegas.

We absolutely loved this restaurant. The atmosphere and vibe was amazing. We sat in the bar area where we could watch the bartender make cocktails. The cocktail selection on the menu was great featuring so many different drinks from different eras. The service was fantastic. We ordered a steak and some pasta. We had multiple desserts that were delicious. I highly recommend this restaurant. It’s a bit off the strip but so worth it.

Atmosphere: 7/10
Located just west of the Strip near Las Vegas’ Chinatown corridor, Herbs & Rye feels firmly rooted in an old-school steakhouse identity rather than a cocktail-forward bar. The space is dark, classic, and heavy on the restaurant energy. The backbar is solid with a respectable liquor selection, but the overall layout prioritizes dining—tables dominate and bar seating, while plentiful, plays second fiddle. Music runs a bit loud, enough that you need to raise your voice. Net: borderline for what I’d personally classify as a cocktail bar—the restaurant vibe clearly leads.

Drinks: 6/10
Recommendation: –
The menu focuses on classics spanning different eras, executed with good technical quality. Flavor direction is correct, but nothing stands out or surprises. Presentation is very basic across the board: average glassware, minimal garnish work, standard ice, no coasters. Everything is competent, but it stops at “fine” and never pushes further.

Service: 6/10
Friendly team with average professionalism. Attentiveness could be sharper, especially considering the bar’s reputation. Reservations are recommended. Pricing is average for Las Vegas.

Herbs & Rye is consistently, and highly, ranked on North America’s 50 Best Bars lists. I strongly disagree that this place can hold ground against many other North American cocktail bars I’ve visited—the ranking feels inflated given the experience.

Locals know all too well how difficult it is to score a a table at Herbs and Rye ( @herbsandrye ). TIL that the best way to try is to get there at least an hour before they open and wait in line. That’s how I landed a seat at the bar to feast for New Year’s eve. This was the second time I feasted there, and once again every aspect of the experience was too notch. The service, flawless, and the cuisine perfectly prepared. This was the first time I tried the steak tartare and it was really good. The steak and lobster was the best way to celebrate closing out 2025. I even skipped the strip madness because the weather was freezing cold and raining. No lie I was so satisfied from this feast experience I called it a night early for the first time on an NYE. Slept through the fireworks.

The most captivating part of this night? The ladies next to me visiting for the festivities. At one point the locals on the left of me were curious about their story, so I had to ask. I’ll leave them nameless, but the ladies on the right, when asked, “what’s your journey about?” quickly retorted “it’s a story, but I’m not sure you want to know!” Of course, when you hear that, you HAVE to know. This was wild, but honestly, I felt one of the most noble, positive energy focused ways to address, and move through a chaotic situation.

The first lady closest to me explains how she discovered her husband of 13 years, a child together of 10, was cheating with the younger girl to the right of her. This sad man had been taking each of them to the same destinations and experiences. When she found out she confronted the woman who showed her all of the information exchanges, how she had no idea. Instead of meeting down, they became friends. They were in Vegas as a F-you going to the same spots together to pave over the old memories. Priceless. Inspiring.

Experiences > Stuff!

That made the night for me, great food and a lasting memory. Far more valuable than stuff from a store.

Dinner at Herb and Rye was very delicious. Excellent and friendly staff. They were on top of everything and I never had to ask for anything Make sure you make reservations ahead of time or it may be a wait to get in. The atmosphere was different than I had experienced at other steakhouses but the food was good. The sides are more family sized and are separate from the steak. The Whiskey Scalloped Potatoes are delicious! I still don’t know when steaks are full price but I will gladly take the discount!

THE best steakhouse deal in Vegas! Old school, intimate and perfect for a late night dinner. Make a reservation- the place was packed at midnight! The bartenders are master craft cocktail magicians! My old fashioned was perfectly made and served quickly. You can tell when you sit at the bar and see all the unique liquors you are in for a treat. Caesar salad was perfection and dressed wonderfully. The steaks are perfectly cooked and offer a lot of topping options. I couldn’t have asked for a better dinner – service was fantastic! This is my new go to fave for Vegas and you should make it yours too.

This steakhouse is an absolute gem — open late, which is rare to find, especially off the strip in Vegas. The place has so much personality, with that old-time bar charm that makes it feel both classic and lively. The drink menu is creative and full of interesting options, and every cocktail we tried was spot on.

The steak was cooked perfectly — juicy, flavorful, and clearly high-quality. Even though the restaurant was extremely busy, the service stayed professional, efficient, and attentive, which says a lot about their team.

It’s the kind of spot you can come for a great meal, stay for the atmosphere, and actually enjoy the late-night vibe without the chaos of the strip. Definitely worth the visit — amazing experience from start to finish.

We celebrated my husband’s 60th birthday here with friends. What a wonderful place!!! Our server was Juan and he was EXCEPTIONAL!!! He gave wonderful suggestions as it was our 1st time here. His assistant was Josh and he too provided superb service. The food was OUTSTANDING!!! The Era cocktails were delicious!! Juan recommended the Lions Tail to my husband, and we all had to follow suit after we all took a sip. We even had a little visit from Aly, the manager, and she too was lovely. I highly recommend you make a reservation and come here for a date night, to celebrate a milestone, or just stop in for dinner. They were so kind and brought my husband a couple of wonderful desserts for his birthday. Thank you Juan, Josh, and Aly for making his 60th so memorable. We DEFINITELY will be back.

Pleasant overall experience, however, we received the incorrect flatbread orde, the pasta was good, the mac & cheese was a little too salty and the cocktails were average for Vegas, nothing outstanding, just standard. More of a bar scene/vibe. The sister restaurant provides more of a classy feel. Our server seemed distracted and placed the wrong item for our order and forgot to bring a garnishment for a cocktail ordered. Fun but a little disappointing experience from what was expected.
