The food was awful.
The chicken tenders actually tasted good, but they must have been frozen and when they were taken from the fryer they were put directly on wax paper and not in a cooling rack so they had massive soggy bottoms.
The Broccoli Cheddar Casserole was completely unseasoned. The rice was mush and there were only a few bits of the floret and there was a very weak cheese flavor.
We will not be returning to this location.
We really enjoyed our time spent with our waitress Kylie. She was awesome!
After we ate, we were done in 45 mins from start to finish but we opted for dessert! Sweet Hen Eggs are the bomb!!!!! Soo good and huge!!You’ve got to try them!!! 6 times we were asked if everything was alright or if we needed anything. It was so nice to eat and have them looking out for us. Give them a try, they are still working on a few things but awesome job for only being open several weeks!
Another thing I noticed, the floors are black and they kept them so clean. Tables are clean, just a great atmosphere.
The service:
Walked in the door and stood for a few minutes before being acknowledged by the hostess. She was making change for a server’s bank. I felt a little ignored. A customer came to the hostess to ask to pay. They were still recovering from their dinner rush.
My server acknowledged me quickly and then returned to take my order. Though she struggled to tell be what beers they have on draft. But we got through it even with the sizes listed in the menu weren’t available currently 16 oz vs 20oz. She was attentive during service and help recover for the hostess stand.
The food:
I ordered a 5 tender meal with steak fries and a side salad. The tenders were the star. Big and plump. Moist and tender. I chose original bbq and hen sauce as my dippers. Most of the flavor came from the dippers. The batter on the tenders seemed under seasoned. The fries on the other hand were very salty so much so I couldn’t finish them. The side salad with homemade ranch was made with chopped romaine (thumbs up). I think they went through their prepped lettuce during dinner rush because the texture seemed fresh out of the walk-in cooler which is not the same when it is cut, washed, and binned for service. I also wasn’t served and complimentary rolls that I read about in other reviews.?.
I’m not sure how I feel about paying an 75 cents for an extra sauce when one is not enough for 5 tenders that cost $15.49. With all that said I would give Hen’s and Heifers another try. I love the theme and the menu.
Got the queso w chips which was decent but way over priced for the fact that I didnt get the steak with it.
Place was pretty dead when i got there. Less then 5 pple at the bar. Maybe 2 families seated. Service wasnt too bad tho I felt a bit pushed to decide what I wanted.
Overall I walked in thinking it was gonna be a good vibe and good food, and while I left full, I wasnt satisfied.
