2024: We decided to try this out. The service and decor and music were great!

The food was awful.

The chicken tenders actually tasted good, but they must have been frozen and when they were taken from the fryer they were put directly on wax paper and not in a cooling rack so they had massive soggy bottoms.

The Broccoli Cheddar Casserole was completely unseasoned. The rice was mush and there were only a few bits of the floret and there was a very weak cheese flavor.

We will not be returning to this location.

We really enjoyed our time spent with our waitress Kylie. She was awesome!

Food was delicious and plated very well. My waitress, Cierra, was very attentive and kind. She checked on me and my son frequently and answered all of our questions. Definitely will be back again!

We’ve been here 2 times now. First just a few weeks after they opened and they were still working out kinks so we waited 2 ½ hours for food. HOWEVER we didn’t give up on them and returned several weeks later and WOW! WHAT A CHANGE! We were seated, took 7 mins for someone to get our drink order but it was ok because we were looking at the menu. Got our drinks in 7 mins, appetizer(I HIGHLY recommend the loaded chips!!!! Oh my goodness were they good!! Chips were evenly cooked and EVERY ONE was crunchy like kettle chips! Not one soft spot in the bunch and cooked perfect, none were over cooked!) came by 12 minutes, salads 15 mins and our steaks and other side in 25 minutes. We got sirloin steak which I hear have now been pulled from the menu, but I ordered medium and my friend ordered well done. Both came well done. No steak knife only a butter knife? Hum..however I don’t know how the cook did it, but even the well done steaks were tender enough to easily cut with the butter knife! And they melted in your mouth and were NOT chewy and hard! Wow! I had the English potatoes(yum!) And my friend had the green beans(she said they were good just a little too much onion).
After we ate, we were done in 45 mins from start to finish but we opted for dessert! Sweet Hen Eggs are the bomb!!!!! Soo good and huge!!You’ve got to try them!!! 6 times we were asked if everything was alright or if we needed anything. It was so nice to eat and have them looking out for us. Give them a try, they are still working on a few things but awesome job for only being open several weeks!
Another thing I noticed, the floors are black and they kept them so clean. Tables are clean, just a great atmosphere.

H&H is in Elkview, WV which is a 10 mile drive north from Charleston. You’ll find a unique locally owned and operated restaurant when you arrive. Great theme and menu.

The service:
Walked in the door and stood for a few minutes before being acknowledged by the hostess. She was making change for a server’s bank. I felt a little ignored. A customer came to the hostess to ask to pay. They were still recovering from their dinner rush.

My server acknowledged me quickly and then returned to take my order. Though she struggled to tell be what beers they have on draft. But we got through it even with the sizes listed in the menu weren’t available currently 16 oz vs 20oz. She was attentive during service and help recover for the hostess stand.

The food:
I ordered a 5 tender meal with steak fries and a side salad. The tenders were the star. Big and plump. Moist and tender. I chose original bbq and hen sauce as my dippers. Most of the flavor came from the dippers. The batter on the tenders seemed under seasoned. The fries on the other hand were very salty so much so I couldn’t finish them. The side salad with homemade ranch was made with chopped romaine (thumbs up). I think they went through their prepped lettuce during dinner rush because the texture seemed fresh out of the walk-in cooler which is not the same when it is cut, washed, and binned for service. I also wasn’t served and complimentary rolls that I read about in other reviews.?.

I’m not sure how I feel about paying an 75 cents for an extra sauce when one is not enough for 5 tenders that cost $15.49. With all that said I would give Hen’s and Heifers another try. I love the theme and the menu.

Had steak and scrambled eggs for breakfast, everything was okay, kinda disappointed about the steak tips, they were tough and tasteless. Didn’t have the option for lunch, gave us breakfast menus only, but the manager gave us a 20 dollar gift card on next purchase, But everything else was great, good service and very clean. Also had a bloody Mary, it was beautifully made, but so hot thank gosh I had sweet tea.

I love this place, it’s both a family friendly restaurant and sports bar with delicious food, sizable portions and reasonable prices. Our waitress, Sierra, was friendly, professional and always there with a fresh refill. The chicken & waffles are absolutely decadent.

Heard so many negative things took us months to try! Ernie our waiter was great!!! Hubby says wings were best he’s had in a long time! Complimentary rolls were doughy! I had a BLT which was good (hard to mess up a BLT!). I did think $7.99 was high for a BLT considering no chips or fries were included. Will def come again!

My first time dining here, and it was great. The atmosphere was very welcoming and chill. The food was so good, and our server–who was also the bartender–was attentive and sweet. Totally recommend the fish sandwich, crispy, and the mac & cheese!

Underwhelming. Burger was obviously a pre-made patty, was also very dry, not a ton of flavor. The fries were saturated. I commented to the bar keep about this and they brought me more fries that were exactly the same. I ended up not eating most of the fries because everytime I held one, my fingers were coated in oil.
Got the queso w chips which was decent but way over priced for the fact that I didnt get the steak with it.
Place was pretty dead when i got there. Less then 5 pple at the bar. Maybe 2 families seated. Service wasnt too bad tho I felt a bit pushed to decide what I wanted.
Overall I walked in thinking it was gonna be a good vibe and good food, and while I left full, I wasnt satisfied.

We stopped in kind of late for dinner. The service was top notch. The food was fresh, even late. We had an appetizer & dinners, not quick food. It is nice to have a place at Elkview where we can get an actual meal. Great place, great food!
