Let me start by saying that the photo clearly doesn’t do it justice. I have been coming here for years and they never disappoint. Despite my last trip to Nantucket being less than a week, I came here twice for a meatball sub. Wish I had one now.. yum!

Well… It’s hard when a lifelong favorite let’s you down, even if only a little.
I grew up – 50+ years ago – on Cheese Specials (hot on Syrian LTOP Russian dressing & hots) — an all-time great sandwich!!! This one was still delicious, but didn’t live up to the millions I’ve eaten in the past. I could taste the apathy with which it was made… (“Where’s the Russian on the *rest* of the sandwich???…” LOL)

I have been coming here for 20+ years. Consistently delicious. I always get the chicken parm and it’s sooooo good! The bread is soft and wonderful. Don’t miss the cookies- also outstanding!

REALLY good sandwiches. Take out only. We had the meatball sub, Italian, hummus wrap (we have since kicked that friend out of the lunch group), and roast beef. The bread is soft and tasty. All the fillings were fresh and well seasoned.

By far the best sandwich shop on nantucket! They make their own bread which is out of this world! Despite the increase in food prices throughout the country Henry’s Jr is still more than reasonably priced. It’s quickly becoming a can’t miss stop for locals and tourists alike.

Stopped on the way to surfside and ordered a veggie wrap with hummus for the beach… It consisted mostly of soggy, wilted lettuce and pickles. The hummus was barely a schmear. Since I was hungry from the bike ride, I bravely chewed on, only to bite into a toothpick halfway through. Gave up in disgust.
Thought about going back to demand a refund but I had other things to do. Besides, the wrap itself betrayed such a contemptuous attitude towards the customer that I figured it was useless and a waste of time.

In between doing the cliff walk and getting to the lighthouse for a day at the beach we decided to stop here for sandwiches to go! The sandwiches are really good and super hearty. We stopped a little further up for snacks and drinks and we were all set for a day at the beach!
