Visiting family here and Hen House is a spot you have to eat if you like good food. The chicken was fried to perfection, juicy and flavored great. The Mac and cheese was fire and so was the mashed potatoes. I came hungry and left happy.
The service was amazing too. The order taker helped explain the menu and we were able to get exactly what we wanted. The restaurant was clean and the atmosphere was great. Music wasn’t too loud and we could have a conversation.

I have traveled to alot of places and I have eaten alot of food in my life and this place is in the top 5 best places I have ever eaten. It is without a doubt the best chicken i have had in my entire life hands down no question. Everything was perfect the skin was crispy and full of flavor the meat was juicy and easy to pull off the bone. The bow on top of it being perfect was their hot honey. You dont need alot just some on the skin to give it depth and it ties everything together so perfectly it felt like having an out of body experience. The fries were perfectly cooked and the biscuit was fluffy and buttery with a slight sweetness, absolutely amazing. Alittle hot only on half of the biscuit was amazing. If you are driving throught the area it is 1000% worth the stop. The flavors already can’t be beaten but the prices make this an absolute must nothing will be better than this place. I will be coming back and you should too.

My Buffalo chicken sandwich with side of red beans in rice was delicious, my wife got two chicken breast / waffles with fried potatoes and vegan jambalaya and we shared a Mac n cheese she said hers was delicious except chicken cooked a little over cooked but was juicy! We both give it 4 1/2 stars out of 5 8 out of 10! We will go back and bring family

This place is one of our favorites. The fried chicken here is awesome. The sides are great, too. The mashed potatoes and gravy are incredible. This place isn’t much to look at, but they focus on what matters and that’s great food and great service. Everybody is really friendly and really helpful. We’ve been going here for a couple of years now and St. Robert is lucky to have this place. The prices are great too.

We were super excited to try this place – the pictures online brought us in. We came on a Saturday night and had little wait on our food. The staff was courteous and patient while we looked over the menu. I would recommend the Red Beans and Rice Bowl – very filling and flavorful. The kids’ meals are HUGE – great value for money. I would not recommend the coleslaw though, it was pretty bland and we weren’t able to eat it. Overall, this place is a win and will definitely be back when we are in the area.

I wasn’t there long enough to rate the service and atmosphere due to me picking the food up quickly. Just going off the food though, it wasn’t that good, which I was surprised about because most of the reviews are great and I’ve heard a lot about Hen House.
The food in my families opinion, not too good for our taste. All the sides we got (green beans, mac & cheese, and mashed potatoes w gravy) was severely over seasoned with pepper. Maybe we got a bad batch of the sides, it was our first time eating there so we weren’t familiar with how it normally tastes. The chicken was ok in my opinion. I’d give it a 4/10 based solely on taste. Chicken with their sauce makes it a bit better.
One other thing that was kind of annoying…my wifes food (a chicken sandwich) came in the bag, with the box laying on its side so when we got everything opened up at home, the sandwich was all apart inside the box.
First time impression not too good overall so we probably wont be back. Staff was nice with the little interaction I had so thats good.

I’m visiting from Louisiana and stopped by Hen House Chicken and Catfish Co. — and let me tell you, it was worth it! I got the Nashville Hot Mac meal with a sweet tea for under $14. The bowl was huge — enough to last me three meals! I had it for dinner, and I’m saving the rest for breakfast. The chicken was flavorful with the perfect kick, and the pickles added a great crunch. Friendly service and a great value.
