Update: we found out we were accidentally given a gluten free meal which is why the chicken looked so different. Hen House made it right and gave us a new meal. Overall their chicken is probably the best in the area and I’m happy to see they care about their customers.
Unsure what happened but this is what I was given tonight when I picked up my online order. The chicken appears to be uncooked and there were barely any fries, $19 by the way. I’ve been two other times and it was great but this is making me question coming here again.

We loved it! I have missed chicken strips since I started eating gluten free! The chicken strips and fries were both gluten and dairy free! Completely scratched the itch for fried chicken. The chicken was also juicy and tender. Better than raising canes, but same style. The strawberry lemonade and sides were also great. No complaints. Good price.

Hen House is located in the central space of Bridgeport and is surrounded by plenty of lovely outdoor seating with covered spaces and nearby playground for the kiddos. Excellent price for the portions served; chicken was not overly greasy and the crinkle cut fries were crisp and well seasoned. I enjoyed the potato salad as well( garlic toast could have benefited with more garlic, tbh) but it was an extremely satisfying dinner with plenty of leftovers for dinner later.

Ordered a tenderwich. Price is fair enough. Love that it is made fresh. Piping hot. Had some crisp to it, very juicy. But for someone who likes plenty of flavor and seasonings, this isnt it. There was no real flavor to the chicken at all. The house sauce, which is pretty good, carried the entire sandwich. That and the pickles. I expected much more from this. I wouldnt come back personally. I need flavor, spices, etc from my food and this was bland. Good for kids or those who cant handle spices. Very safe food.

Definitely better than Raising Canes, I ordered the “Lil Clucker” and it was $7.25 for the meal. It came with one tender, fries, bread, sauce, and an amusing chicken squeaker toy. The food was hot and the wait was relatively quick. The buttermilk ranch and fries were great, although the tenders were a bit lacking in flavor. Otherwise, everything was good and I’d definitely skip over Raising Canes for the Hen House.

amazing, sauces are amazing and each one is perfect , chicken is juicy and crisp, the fries are well seasoned, the bread is amazing. raising canes is nothing compared to this place, the atmosphere around it is perfect its why I love Bridgeport. The founder is cute too, thanks for offering smt for free!

The food stand is located in Bridgeport Village. Ordered the Rooster meal ( 4 chicken tenders, toast, fries on the bottom, and a side of house sauce + kbbq sauce). The potato salad was bland. The chicken tenders are crispy and cooked well. The tenders tasted bland. The toast was cold and really doughy. The sauces are pedestrian and not very flavorful. The fries were reasonably crispy.
This is food for kids without discerning tastebuds. Not exciting but easy to eat. So if bland is your preference, go for it.

Good food, good value. JUICY chicken strips, freshly made not re-heated. I like how they have a variety of dipping sauces and sides. I’m docking them a star because of the 15-20-25% tip prompt. Shouldn’t be a mandatory step to check out, as this is the kind of place where you pick up your food at a window and clear your own table when you are done. Super Chix in the same mall for example does not tip prompt you.

I’m From the UK and this was by far the best place that I visited whilst I was across the pond , it is what I imagined American food should taste like compared to the junk we get back home . I’m just gutted you don’t deliver to England . Can’t recommend this place enough . Simply amazing . I came here 4 times I liked it that much
