Ordered the veggie burger called The Cheevies & Fries. It is chickpea oat based and it was okay. Presentation and portion was good but the consistency of the burger was very floppy and broke apart. Flavor was also just okay. I would’ve preferred an impossible burger or beyond burger instead. Service was friendly and ambiance is aesthetic as it is in the Redlands Public Market.

Meat eaters have more options here than vegetarians.

We ordered four burgers, two of the four burgers were extremely salty. We ordered chili cheese fries, and it was so salty. We could not eat it very disappointed. I tried to call them to see if we can come back and they don’t even pick up the phone

Been 2-3 times now. Tonight, I had The Heifer Salad – shredded steak, egg, onions, peppers, and more. Delicious. Biggest surprise was not needing dressing. Grilled vegetables and steak were so good, they acted as the dressing. The pita was soft and tasty.
The only downsides were the huge lettuce leaves and the price.

Heifer Salad was really good! Kinda salty, so you dont really need the dressing (i had ranch, per the recommendation which was excellent). The lettuce is actually SUPER fresh, and crunchy, it was very satisfying. Would eat here again.

I enjoyed the marinated chicken sandwhich a lot. Very tasty and almost too big to eat. The fried zucchini was really excellent with the perfect amount of seasoning in the batter. The onion rings were a bit thick cut for me but if you like the slight stronger onion flavor you’ll enjoy them.

You get what you pay for that’s for sure. The burger is HUGE and can almost cover my whole face. It’s absolutely delicious and I had to split it in half to even eat it because it was so big. The fried zucchini was amazing and so were the onion rings. The breading is absolutely delicious and doesn’t taste like cheap chemically fried stuffs you’d get at fast food or outback. Everything is made fresh to order, so when we got our food, the onion rings and zucchini were especially hot and fresh from the fryer. I have plenty of leftovers and the fries zucchini and onion rings still taste amazing cold from the fridge or warmed up in the air fryer. Definitely recommend this place in the marketplace. It’s tucked in the corner and can be hard to miss from the other eateries with their flashy neon signs.

The Hen and Heifer is inside the Redlands Public Market.

I got a burger they call the Mexican. It was extremely juicy, and I loved the roasted poblano pepper that was on it. I also added a side of the Belgian fries. These are some of the best fries I’ve ever tried.

Their menu is quite extensive, and I will be back to try more of it.

I just ordered fries and zucchini. They were good. Good portions. I added more salt on the side to add more seasoning.

We were getting full but still had a little room, so we grabbed the 6 oz standard burger. Glad we did — it was very good! Juicy, well-seasoned, and satisfying without being too heavy. A solid burger worth trying. Next time, I’ll definitely try some of their other burgers.

It could have been a 5 star review if
My food wasn’t cold…

The TASTE of the food was really good even cold. I’m sure it could have been an amazing dining experience had I gotten my food while hot. I’m quite sad about that . Also the service could have been better. If I hadn’t gone to check after 35 mins why it was taking so long I probably would have still been waiting. My food looked like it was just sitting there I’m sure for a while. I didn’t get a text until after I left the market place that it was ready.
Overall I would still probably come back and try it again hopefully next time I get hot food .
Also the ice cream is delicious.
