Hempy’s was fantastic hole in the wall place. The setting is super cozy and the food is delicious. The portion sizes, options , and quality of the food were great. The entire menu is vegan and has that home made quality to it. The service was also great , very polite and personable.

It was my first time in Maui for a work trip, and I was looking for a good lunch spot nearby—so glad I found this gem! I hadn’t had vegan or vegetarian food in a while, and this place absolutely hit the spot.
I ordered the Sweet and Sour Chickless lunch special, which came with the soup of the day and a dessert. I also got the Medicine Maker smoothie to go with it. Everything was delicious! The crispy “chicken” paired perfectly with a soft bed of jasmine rice, and the cabbage side was crunchy, fresh, and topped with toasted furikake flakes for extra flavor.
The smoothie was out of this world. The best way I can describe it is like drinking one of those Mexican mango candies with the chili coating I loved as a kid—sweet with a perfect kick of heat.
Highly recommend stopping by if you’re in Maui. I’ll definitely be coming back next time I’m in town for work!

Wonderful little cafe. We were looking for vegan restaurant and stumble across this cafe. Wonderful owner and chef. We tried strawberry shorty beach bowl . Amazing vegan smoothy with incredible amount of ingredients. We also had spaghetti and taco which comes with sides of soup, house salad and vegan pie . Amazing taste. Owner was wonderful and it was great to hear her story as well . Must try if you are in Maui..very reasonable price.

We were in the area looking for a bite to eat and after searching online for something nearby hempy’s popped up so we decided to check it out. Upon arrival we were greeted by Gustavo the little puppy. We ended up Ordering some food and smoothies and both were unique and delicious. I was going to get the burrito but it was out of stock so I got the loco moco instead. The owner was very welcoming and she since she was out of what I wanted on the menu she ended up giving me all the deserts! Great little place especially because not much vegan restaurants that I know of out there. I definitely recommend checking it out!

FANTASTIC!! The owner Lisa is super sweet and makes 98% of everything from scratch (just a sauce or two and the nori aren’t made by her but still delicious). We devoured The Japan, some delicious mushroom and Collard soup and took some raw carrot cake home, I’m sure it will be amazing. I absolutely LOVE this place!! Unfortunately I’m only here 2 more days but I hope to come back.

I love this cafe! I’m not even vegan but I really appreciate how clean and nourishing the food is. The atmosphere of this place is so cozy and welcoming, it feels like a family welcoming me into their home. Instantly made friends and had great conversations hanging out in this space while enjoying the yummy food. They make the best smoothie I’ve had on island! Great affordable prices too.
