What an incredible place, sat outside at dinner on an 25C autumn evening and we were looked after so well by Sonia.
With my allergies they reviewed what I could eat and the food timing was perfect.
The baguette and butter, scallops with pea puree and steak frites, Creme brulee just yum. I had 2 cocktails Irish Ballerinas for me – baileys, chambord raspberry liqueur, Jameson whisky and salted caramel monin.
A gentle stroll back to hotel

What can I say…sensational from the moment we walked in… definitely our sort of restaurant….
The food was to die for,
All the music and songs.. were the French versions… you haven’t lived untill you you’ve heard “Raindrops keep falling on my head” in French
10/10

I stumbled upon Hemingway’s Manly while out for a walk, and I’m so glad I did! We’ve always walked past it but never went in until now. The staff were incredibly kind, friendly, and accommodating from the moment we sat down. The food was absolutely fantastic—my croque madame and the bad boy hot pot were both delicious and so filling! We also enjoyed some mimosas and coffee, which were spot on. What made the experience even better was how welcoming they were to my dog, Oreo. He even got some special treats, which was a lovely touch. Highly recommend this place and will definitely be coming back!

We were a walk in table of three adults on a Monday night.
The hostess was very warm and welcoming, the service was excellent, wine list is good and we didn’t wait long for our mains. Admittedly we were a little boring as all three of us had the Tajima Wagyu rump, 2 x medium rare and 1 x rare.
This is our first time eating this type of steak, and each of us found it difficult to cut as it was so soft – understanding that marbling can have this effect – and no flavour.
The french fries were perfect and the beans were cooked well but could have done with more flavour. The bill was $267 for 3 x steaks, 1 x green beans and 3 glasses of wine.
I am sorry to only give 2 stars, but the steak was very disappointing for the price.
A suggestion would be to add a minute steak to the menu as an alternative price point and style of meat.

Burger was good, however, we asked for the cheese to be taken out but final product kept the cheese… even with the waitresses confirming this with us again after the order was in. I struggled to enjoy the fish and chips as the fish was just dripping with oil. On my way out I left a comment that the fish was very oily and she said it is because it is fried in oil… Thanks for the cooking lesson. The dishes were $33 each so I expected much better. Wouldn’t recommend.

Hemingway’s is a terrific place to sit and relax and enjoy the Manly vibe. The menu is not extensive but absolutely delicious. The restaurant has two floors of dining clean crisp décor. Emanual and the other staff are friendly, attentive and very accommodating. We had a very enjoyable lunchtime dining experience.

Booked Hemingways for my bday lunch yesterday with my husband and son. It was our first time there and I noted birthday on the booking. The brunette waitress who greeted us was so incredibly rude, even for the French (my husband is French). She seemed to have a problem with us wanting to sit inside instead of outside and she just pointed to three tables at the back of the restaurant without even taking us to them. No mention of whose birthday is it or anything special. The owner was nice and same with another waitress, however not attentive enough for French dining and the initial poor greeting really killed it for me. Won’t be back!

I found this incredible restaurant in Manly last minute, and it turned out to be a fantastic choice. The owner/manager was exceptionally empathetic and accommodating, making our experience truly special. The food was outstanding—my partner raved about the rainbow trout, saying it was the best he’s ever had, and I loved the duck dish, wagyu burger and the crème brûlée dessert.

The ambiance was delightful, with a French chic vibe and a quaint, vintage feel. The colour palette, mainly black and white with earthy tones, was beautifully accented by striking pops of red. The staff were all friendly and welcoming. Plus, the location is perfect, right near the beach, providing lovely views whether you’re seated outside or by the window. I highly recommend this restaurant—it’s a true gem!

A beautiful authentic meal right on the beach at Manly. We had the parfait, beouf bourgignon and the boulabaise. All were excellent.

The parfait was perfectly smooth, rich, and well offset by the fig jam and pickle.

The bourgignon was very rich, generous and well presented. The sauce was taken right to the edge but was delicious. The truffle mash was excellent.

The boulabaise was fresh, light and generous too. A few more slices of baguette would have helped.

The staff were friendly and helpful.
