It was our first time here. Such a great party place!! Big dance floor and more bars than you could need. Bartenders are great and they had great entertainment. My favorite band, The Characters were awesome. They have a nice sized stage and sound system was great. The food was very good.

Hemingway’s Cafe, is more then a cafe.

It was eatery, bar, dance hall, sports bar, and private hall.
Ambiance wise it spot on. A dark music enriched place to eat with family and friends. The staff were present and attentive. The food was great and filling.

Later in the night a DJ/live music takes the stage by the dance area and the place changes.

I recommend you bring your friends.

We moved to Seaside Heights in September 2024, although we have only been to Hemingway’s for drinks during a couple of events. Tonight we went to eat there for our first time and both my wife and I ordered only off the specials menu.

Their Lobster Bisque is to die for. There is tons of lobster meat and very tasty (no salt or pepper needed at all).

My wife got the Halibut special with fresh asparagus and risotto, and it was delicious.
I got the hanger steak with broccolini and garlic mashed potatoes with garlic herb butter. Everything was flavorful, although the steak was a little undercooked, which is my own fault for not sending it back to cook a little more.

Service was great, and our waitress was very friendly, never leaving us waiting for anything at any point.

They had live music, which was an added bonus.

We will definitely be back to try their main menu and enjoy the atmosphere again.

Update: 8/16: Went back again and had the brisket grilled cheese and the fresh fish special over risotto. Both were amazingly good.

Stopped in to hear the band on a Sunday, summer afternoon and stayed for dinner. Started with an amazing bowl of their special lobster bisque, loaded with morsels of fresh lobster in a delightful and velvety bisque. We went on to have a chicken ceasar salad and a crisp, cold and fresh wedge salad, topped with bacon and homemade blue cheese dressing that was over the top. Hats off to the bar staff here for switching their TV’s to the USA-Mexico Gold Cup final. This may seem like a little thing but I can’t tell you how many times I have been to a bar or sports bar and you get ignored for asking to put a big game on. The bartenders were very busy at the time but still were able to take care of a simple request, that alone got you five stars !!

The food tastes good, although deep-fried items are a bit over fried and hard, and the roasted potatoes are a bit undercooked. The service is good, although I never understood this “trying to take the plate away the same time asking the customer are you still working on it when they are still eating from the plate”(please, don’t do that.) The environment and the atmosphere are fine, although this time there was live singing, TVs with different games in, billiards, bars, and a bartender with piercing voice, so it’s kind of noisy. The main drawback is the price, it’s overpriced (maybe like most restaurants nowadays), and they transfer the surcharge to customers if using credit cards — fine prints on the bill, but they don’t bother to tell you. So please pay attention to check the bill, otherwise one can be paying gratuity over tax + fee.

Great service, good food, good pricing. I was surprised by the food honestly having many years exp in mid and fine dine. Dance club is groovy if you can link your people and music era. Def a must visit if you’re in town.

Let me tell you!!! PLACE IS AMAZING!!! Everything from the hospitality, the service, the atmosphere and the food pshhhh it’s just off the wall! There’s nothing on that menu that isn’t a 5+ !! PORK CHOP WOW FRENCH BREAST WOW SHORT RIB WOW SPICY AHI TUNA APP WOW WINGS WOW SOUPS WOW I MEAN DAMN THE WHOLE MENU IS WOW!!! And they for those of you that are gluten free , Hems has half the menu w amazing choices !! Can’t say enough and I hope they continue to stay as good as they are. Finally a place that can fit our big family usually 10-15 people with no questions asked, no problem bringing a stroller and sometimes even getting to enjoy a live performer while enjoying a great meal……man…can’t beat it !! Thank you !!!! And btw hell of an Old fashioned with black cherries and then the espresso martini to end the night I just can’t say enough so happy and grateful that Hems is doing it right. Shout out to the servers and managers and the hostesses who are always accommodating and down to earth.

Def show them love and if you want the best meal on the island when you’re down with the fam or just to go out and grab a drink and a meal with a few people —I highly recommend!!!

I rarely take the time to write a review. But wow is this place straight trash. Slow / rude service. Bad food. Overpriced drinks. They think because of their location their standard can be zero. They will be out of business in the next 3-5 years if they make it that far. Skip this place. Party at Spicys / Ocean. We can only pray they go out of business sooner rather than later.

Great spot very close to the beach in Seaside Heights NJ. Great atmosphere, pool tables, live music, great food. The as usual I tried their Buffalo Wings. Perfectly crisp and just the right amount of heat. The stuffed Lobster tail was less expensive than I thought it should be, but it was tender and juicy and the stuffing was delicious. Try the Street Corn, amazing. My wife and her sister each had the Bacon wrapped Beef Medallions. My brother in law had the Flat Iron Steak. All of us had the street corn. My wife had to try the Lava Cake, it was really good. You should definitely try Hemingway’s Cafe.
Cheers.
