I had a business appointment in Beaufort for a Friday morning at around 11. The boyfriend offered to drive me and when the appointment wrapped up, the boyfriend and I headed here for lunch because it had good reviews.

It is downtown beaufort , which is a very crowded area facing the waterfront park , so parking was difficult. We pulled into the very back parking lot , which holds a total of seven vehicles, photo attached.

This is our first time here and when we walked in, it was very small on the inside. Most of this restaurants seating is on the back patio , which is perfect for us.

Ordering is done at the bar. We ordered the tomato bruschetta appetizer, the french dip and the hemi’s club.

The food was made fresh and the appetizer arrived within 5 minutes. The sandwiches took another 15.

I was nit a fan. The french dip was loaded with cheese and thick rubbery roast beef….hard to chew and hard to bite off the sandwich. Also flavorless.

The club sandwich also had thick cut ham and turkey but at least it wasn’t chewy and tough. The bread was, though. The bread was hard so it was easier to take the top piece off and eat it with only the bottom slice.

Loved the location, service was good, food was negligible.

This is a great local pub facing the Beaufort Waterfront Park. We didn’t know how to get to it, so it was a bit hard to find. The address is on Bay Street, but you actually enter around the other side of the building, facing the river. It’s in the basement, but they have a lot of outside seating, which was perfect for the sunny day we were there. They also had live music, which was an added bonus. The staff was really working hard that day, but still gave us good service. The sandwiches and beer were both very good. It’s a great place to stop for a drink and meal if you are in the area.

There is no finer dive bar ANYWHERE than Hemmingway’s! Great folks and a great vibe, if you can find it! I seriously belief they are open 365 days a year. Our favorite place to chill. And try the Muffalata!

Had a great Sunday, not too long ago, day drinking with friends at Hemingways. Fast, friendly service. Nice little pop-up shop was setup inside. Scooped some cool gifts for friends. We enjoyed listening to local musician, Campfire Tyler.. it was a perfect day!!! Don’t get out very often, looking forward to another visit later on in the summer 🙂

Waited 1 hour hour for food…a hot dog and a sandwich… Waitress was rude. Just slung the plates on the table and got an attitude when my husband went to get extra napkins..My husband got the Cuban sandwich and there was barely anything to it or in it.
First time here, last time here. We went due to the other reviews which were good but not sure how they got them based on our experience.

A small bar that serves a limited menu of sandwiches and sushi. I went on the 4th of July and got the turkey melt and a bloody mary. Both were decent, but nothing special. I didn’t go expecting to be blown away. The service was good and it definitely has that small, local feel that you’d get at your local watering hole. Prices are pretty fair, but $8 for a bloody mary that comes from a bottle (even with lots of accoutrements) is a bit steep.

Best Bloody Marys in Beaufort and surrounding areas. This place is it. It’s small and it’s quaint and it’s the real deal. The sandwiches are good and the bloody Marys are out of this world. Small and local and perfect. I’m sure their other drinks are good too. Don’t skimp on the bloody Mary. Get the good one. Great patio dining and perfect personalities.
