No visit to our 300,000 sq foot flagship store in Springfield, Missouri, is complete without taking time to enjoy an unforgettable meal at this one-of-a-kind dining establishment. Dedicated to Pulitzer and Nobel Prize winning author and accomplished outdoorsman Ernest Hemingway; Hemingway’s décor features authentic photos and memorabilia including a snapshot of Hemingway on the deck of the Pilar where he landed the largest marlin to date in 1935 at 1175#. A lovely mahogany and marble bar formerly a San Francisco barber shop in the late 1800’s surrounds a 30,000 gallon saltwater aquarium overlooking the main dining room.

Springfield, MO. On the 2nd floor of Bass Pro Shop, this restaurant is a must-visit if you’re in Springfield. It’s a fun date, too. Our cousins sat at the bar for several Friday night dates and named the fish in the huge aquarium there. Today we had a family gathering for lunch at Hemingways and the child in our group enjoyed the restaurant as much as the grownups. It took me a few minutes to figure out what to eat because I was so enthralled by the decor. Everywhere I looked there was something fun to see.

Very nice restaurant, delicious food with unique menu items and great atmosphere. We’ve enjoyed 3 meals here on separate occasions and will patron again. Buffet/salad bar on Sundays. Love the decor and fish tank behind the bar.

Was really excited to try this. So disappointing. Seated in the middle of the empty room, nowhere near windows or aquarium. Food was mediocre at best, stale croutons, barely dressed salads, which we both had the same and neither tasted the same. Kinda cold too. Service was not the best. Really didn’t care for feeling like they were not ready for Service with the amount of dishwasher racks they rolled through the middle of the dining room.

We decided to grab lunch here before getting back to work. The staff was friendly and prompt to refill out glasses. we both had the fish and chips and i ate every bit of it. very tasty food. service was fast and the food was hot. We both enjoyed watching the fish swimming behind the bar.

This was an awesome restaurant on the second floor of the original Bass pro shop in Springfield, Missouri! The food was awesome and the service was even better! If you want to try elk or buffalo, this is the place!!!
