Unique restaurant with pretty good food, but a little overpriced. Inside Springfield’s Bass Pro flagship store is a slightly upscale restaurant and a few free, interesting museum features, including one with a wide variety of original guns and historic weapons – even some from films like the Outlaw Josie Wales, another museum is all about fishing, and another about the history and origin of Bass Pro Shops. Of note, the ceiling of much of this Bass Pro Shop is interestingly painted and decorated like you are staring up through the surface of a lake, from under the water. All the free museums are worth a visit, and in addition to any regular shopping at this well-known outfitter is the Hemingway’s Blue Water Cafe.
A variety of appetizers, soups, salads, sandwiches, seafood, burgers, and drinks, the menu is sure to have something that appeals to each person in your party. I attended with a group of 15 people, and service was polite, but a little slower due to the number of folks in our group. Two people next to me split the Big Game Sampler with coconut shrimp, bacon wrapped duck poppers and elk sliders which I was told were all enjoyable. I ordered the Bison burger which on the menu stated is harvested from the buffalo that roam the hills of Dogwood Canyon. Made me feel a little odd eating it since they’re kind of a rare animal. The burger was pretty bland even with cheddar, BBQ sauce, tomato, and onion.
Restaurant was clean from tables, seating areas, restrooms, etc. It is well-maintained and is a neat experience to dine there. Behind the bar is a large fishtank with an assortment of fish swimming by. A little pricey, but a unique place for a meal in Springfield. Not a place to which I’d rush back soon.

Excellent place to eat. Had good service and good quality food. Enjoyed the aquarium behind the bar. I had the catfish and shrimp platter with sweet potato fries. The most fun thing was the build your own Sundays. The brought us one tray of ingredients and we had to battle for sprinkles. A bit pricey though.

Hemingways staff were very kind, professional the starters/appetizers were by far my favorite they had flavor and fed a family of 7. We had there alligator, duck BBQ sauce Jalapeño poppers, fried pickles so thinly sliced, fryed i loved that!,the fish dip was to die for. The bison sliders The new England clam chowder creamy perfection the shrimp tacos tastes pretty good.the salmon had a thick glaze that was much too sweet for my husband’s pallet.one downside my water and dr both tastes like chlorine.

Honestly not so impressed. I had the Mahi Mahi tacos. They were very bland. The taco shells were dry and cracking so I just ate the fish and pineapple and other stuff. Was not impressed. I picked the chips and salsa as the side. The chips were day old chips that you didn’t even want to bite. The salsa was watery and bland. The artichoke dip was tastey tho. For $19 tacos I’ll say it was not worth it. Another had the bison burger and said it was OK. Chicken stripes were good and mac n cheese.

Had lunch here on a whim after a work event @ the aquarium. Haven’t been to this restaurant (or this bass pro) in several years & a lot has changed. However, the grouper meal & bison chili were pretty good & Michelle @ the bar made sure I was all set on a Tuesday afternoon.

The server Lainie was absolutely awful. Did not engage, did ask us if we needed anything and just grabbed a plate i was actually eating off of without a word. We had to ask another server if we paid at the table went to the front. No, its not because we were rude. We were never given a chance to speak to her. We expected more from. Bass Pro Hemingways as that has been our experience almost every other time we visited. Thank you for taking steps to correct the service as I know full well your bar for excellence is high.

I recently visited Hemingway’s, and it was a great experience from start to finish. I enjoyed a perfectly cooked Kansas City strip that was full of flavor and incredibly tender with crab cakes that were rich and savory. Enjoyed some calamari that was good but probably a little expensive for the portion and quality. Also had a bowl of clam chowder was very good.

The service was attentive without being intrusive, and the staff made sure every detail was just right. The atmosphere was inviting and relaxed, making it the perfect setting for a great meal with friends.

Lovely experience dining here. There’s a balcony that overlooks the camo area, a beautiful aquarium behind the bar, roaring warm fire with waiting area. They serve a brunch on the weekends and have a delicious IPA on tap. I love the coconut shrimp and the bison chili is yummy. Bonus: keep your eyes peeled for the elusive eel Happy Hour is disappointing and underwhelming. Only Busch and Budlight on HH draft plus overpriced and poorly executed food options. Not even salt on the pretzel, served with neon cheese. Update: Happy Hour is gone. Michelle is the best server!
