Next to Pineville Community Center on Main Street! What a cool concept…books, brews, food & booze! A “spirited” revival of downtown historic Central Louisiana. How exciting & refreshing to watch this thoroughfare grow & prosper. Breakfast, lunch & dinner, coffee & drinks. They offer many gluten free options! I had the most delicious lemon-berry gluten free muffin, freshly baked this morning. Mouth watering with my café au lait…perfectly brewed, coffee. I also tried the gluten free bagel with egg & swiss. Divine. The lavender chai took me straight to Provence, France with the first sip. The baristas are top notch. Walking distance from the college & neighborhoods nearby. Thanks to the owners for their creative insight to add to & further build up a bustling buffet of businesses to frequent, or make a day of enjoying! I look forward to adding photos soon! Mekenzie Brown is a rocking Barista & Bartender. And if you love supporting small businesses, have a pint of the Huckleberry Brewing Co beers they have on tap!

A great place for coffee or a drink to catch up with friends. So much care was put into each detail of this special place.

Absolutely love this place! The vibe is so cute and such a fun little hideaway for CENLA. Coffee is really good and their mixed drinks are solid. The food is also top-notch (Highly suggest getting the nachos with chicken). Highly recommend.

A little squished, but a really nice atmosphere that I think will feel more lived in/genuine with time. Definitely need more places with this kind of character in this area! Have not tried the food or the evening adult beverages, so I cannot speak to those— but the coffee was not so good at all. at least on the day we went (3/3/26). and by not so good, I mean it was pretty bad. I ordered a cappuccino with whole milk and somehow got a drink with no milk foam/froth/or anything even slightly resembling textured steamed milk…. it looked like it was made with skim milk, or even water for that matter. Needless to say, the espresso in the watered down drink was also not pleasant. The other thing we ordered was just drip coffee, and that seems like it should be a pretty basic thing to do well. It’s a new place so maybe the hiring or skillset of the workers will get better as time goes on, but it seemed like the employees were just taught how to use the espresso machine. Granted, “coffee shop” is not in the name, so fair enough. I’ll give it some time before going back for a coffee purchase, and will update the review then. But I would definitely invest in baristas that have a passion for good coffee, or at least experience with making basic coffee beverages… otherwise it’s just trendy looking shop that serves coffee as an afterthought, and we have plenty of those in this area already. But if you are looking for an atmospheric place to hang out that does a little of everything (snacks, plate options, various drinks) this would be a great spot. For a $6-7 coffee, I would go elsewhere.

This is not a new experiment for central Louisiana, however it is a slightly different expression. The place is small, but nicely decorated. The bar is fashionable, and the menufits the decor. If one enjoys reading, the ability to work remotely, but quietly, and enjoy a small bite this place checks those boxes. For my ADOS/FBA readers, temper your expectations. It was not built for all of us, and for the few who will enter, understand they don’t have any idea what to do with us. Otherwise, enjoy Cenla. Peace.

Books, food, caffeine, and alcohol! Not to mention a cool atmosphere, and a WALL OF BOOKS. This is going to appeal to some of you not all of you and that’s ok! It’s a fantastic little place in downtown Pineville, and I truly hope that it finds a regular crowd just like the one that was there tonight. If a loud and rowdy bar isn’t your scene, but chilling with your friends, listening to local poetry, talking about movies, books, or music or whatever in a nice establishment is more your speed, check this place out! Charming and nestled on Main Street, Hemingway House is a great little spot! We had four drinks and bought two hard cover books, and spent 60$, so not too expensive at all! Paperback books are 5$ a piece, and hard covers are 10$.
