For decades one of the best Greek restaurants in Indy. Warm atmosphere, knowledgeable staff, consistently great food. I’ve been several times and never once had a bad experience. Saganaki (flaming cheese) is a terrific appetizer. Lamb chops and the combination plate are amazing and always a winner.

Second time we’ve been there in the past month. A cute local, family restaurant. Huge variety of Greek food! The first time we ordered the flaming cheese and it was very good. My boyfriend ordered lamb and I ordered the sampler meal. Together there was tons of food! They are quick to fix anything and truly want to make your meal enjoyable. Their gyros are also so good. They’re HUGE! Very happy we tried it, well be back.

The food is absolutely fantastic. Best Greek food I’ve had in a long time. The hummus and pita is amazing, and the meals are delicious as well. The baklava has a bit too much sweet and cinnamon for my taste. The service tonight was a bit slow, but it is also the first weekend of Devour Indy, and this place has a two-person meal for only $30, which is tremendously filling. 5/5 would go again!

One of the best gyros sandwiches in town. Also love the taramasalata & the mezze plate. I’d rate it higher on the food alone, but the prices have slowly gotten a little too high for my liking and the service has slipped a bit. Recently they forgot to prepare a carryout order I called in. Instead of bring graceful & apologetic, they were a bit rude about it. I could hear the staff arguing about it as I told them to forget it and walked out the door. Offering it to me for free would have won a lifetime of loyalty, but no… Still love the food, but I rarely go in anymore.

Hellas has always been our go to place for great greek food when we are in northeast Indy. Although when we visited on the first weekend of Devour Indy it was far from what we typically received in the past. While we arrived early (about 5pm), each part of our meal from the salad to the dessert was extremely slow. We are normally there about a hour or less, this time was 2.5 hours!! The kitchen appeared to be short staffed and under prepared. Our waitress had to go ask at the window multiple times throughout our meal. The quality of the food wasn’t up to what we had always experienced previously either. Granted they were busy when we left as they should have been at 7:30, there was only two other couples at tables when we arrived. We could not understand the reason for the continued delays. Also, no one from the wait staff to the management ever acknowledged to us there was a problem. There was no “I’m sorry for the delay or anything” Which made us wonder if the management were even aware of the issue. The whole experience left us with a bad taste in our mouth so to speak. Based on the quality of our previous experiences only, we decided that we will give them one last try in hopes that it was a isolated incident.

We haven’t been in awhile and wanted to try it again. We arrived early. At first waitress was smiling cordial. But after our first drinks, someone else put the flame on our cheese. It was obvious he had not done it very often. Food came after 50 minutes. Food was very bland and over priced for what we had. Slouvakia and a Gyro platter. Grandson had chicken fingers and fries. You could literally bend the fry in half. Another server brought us to go containers and took our plates. Everyone went to the car while I waited to pay. She hadn’t been to our table in over 15 minutes. Finally got bill, paid and left. Won’t be back. Horrible service, dogs will enjoy the leftovers. Stopped at steak and shake on our way home!

I have been here several times in the course of the last year due to the great Greek food. Every time I return there is new staff and unfamiliar faces. I went there with a group of people at the end of June and had a great experience with a new server. He explained he had only been there for a few weeks but would take great care of us and he truly did! However, I returned over the weekend to find out he is no longer there (the turn over must be awful!) The service was nothing compared to our last experience and debating on returning at all. The outside of the building is extremely run down and needs a major face lift!
