Love this place. It reminds me of my Ma’s Ma’s Diner from way back then. Awesome Service & that old Diner effect with Great Atmosphere. I’ll have to start making a effort to at least try & come here a couple times a month if not at least once a week. Thank Y’all Very Much! I sure do know that the Double Cheeseburger was off the chain. Very good! I’m stuffed!

Stopped in today and I had the breakfast sampler and my son had the bacon cheeseburger. My son, who is 13 liked the taste of his burger but was still hungry afterwards. I had so much food on the breakfast sampler I was able to get him full. I loved the breakfast sampler and we can’t wait to come back and try something else.

Little hole-in-the-wall spot with great food and even better prices. Everything was fresh and flavorful, and a buddy recommended it to me glad he did. Definitely one of those places you’re happy you checked out and will keep coming back to.
Biscut and gravy, super crunchy hash brown, eggs, and a pancake.

I worked at this family-owned restaurant in my early 20s, and now I had the opportunity to choose the caterer for our company Christmas party. There was only one place that came to mind—not just because I worked there before, but because it’s a family-owned restaurant right here in our town. We need to support places like this.

The food was amazing!!! Reconnecting with my former boss and coworkers made the entire process incredibly easy and helpful. This place has always been my favorite.

Our employees were 100% happy with the quality of the food. And y’all… those biscuits—just saying.

This hidden jewel was a great place to eat. I ordered the special, Turkey & Dressing with yams and collards and it was delicious. Down home country cooking at it’s best. I enjoyed every bite. This was my first visit of many to come.

This place has been in business for over 42 years – and for a good reason. They truly encompass the personality of the NC coast. Southern hospitality, delicious food, great prices, and friendly faces. Truly wonderful.

I was getting an oil change and a brake job at the Subaru dealership and needed to walk somewhere for breakfast on MLK day. Helen’s was open and close so I decided to check them out. Waitresses were friendly and you can seat yourself (good if you’re looking to space out due to COVID precautions). The menu was standard American diner fare and the prices were pretty low – $5.50 for a club sandwhich with a generous portion of fries, a biscuit for 80 cents. The only thing that warranted the removal of a star was the buiscuit – they brought out the flattest biscuit I have ever seen. I had to double check the calendar to make sure that it wasn’t Passover and that I hadn’t gotten some unleavened bread. I expected something else in the south. It tasted OK but be forewarned! I paid $3.50 for the soup of the day, a big bowl of hearty vegetable soup with beef.

They serve Pepsi products and it is by the can (no free refills). I brought in my own Coke Zero (I came prepared for the dealership with my own stash) and rather then tell me that they didn’t allow outside food or drink, the waitress asked me if I’d like a glass for for my Coke Zero. That was unexpected and much appreciated, I’ve forgiven them the Passover biscuit and added a bonus star. 4.5 / 5, give them a shot.

IF I WAS MISTAKEN I WOULDVE THOUGHT MY GRANDMA MADE THESE HOME FRIES IN THE BACK OF THE KITCHEN. THE GRAVY BISCUIT WAS FABULOUS. THE HOME FRIES REMINDED ME OF MY GRANDMA SO BAD I REMINISCED GOOD MEMORIES. BISCUITS ARE DELICIOUS. WOW JUST WOW. IM 24 TURNING 25 TOMORROW BUT MY SOUL JUST TURNED 58. THANK YOU HELENS KITCHEN.
