I’ve visited Heirloom Salad Company many times over the years. For dining in and meeting with friends, there are plenty of seating options. The soups and salads are delicious. Service is fast and friendly. Having a shared space with Java House is a bonus for delicious coffee.

Worst grilled cheese I’ve ever had. Bread was greasy, soggy and barely toasted. Way too much cheese– yes that is a thing. I ordered soup and a sandwich in the restaurant but they hand it to you in a greasy paper bag. Ok i guess I’ll eat in my car. Didn’t get my drink, apparently you have to go to the coffee shop on the other side to get a glass of water. Tomato soup was ok.

This place was surprisingly good. The chicken melt was amazing and the bread was crispy. The adjacent coffee shop has a variety of lattes and the vibes are great to hang out as well as do work at. Would totally come back to this place. The current photos of the food do not do it justice.

I got a 24 oz salad on doordash and I was so disappointed when I got my delivery because of how small it was even though I got a full salad bowl. When I weighed it, it was only 17.5 oz. Rip off

This one really hurts, because I used to really enjoy this place. It seems like over the past year or so the attention to detail has really slipped. The quality of the food has dropped and nothing feels fresh. I used to go in person, but I tried ordering online to support them during the pandemic and my order was not right (they sent a small bowl of soup when I ordered a quart so I had to make other plans for my family for dinner and paid $13 for a small bowl of soup) and the dinner rolls they sent with it felt several days old. I may try the Heirloom downtown, because I did enjoy it when it was running well, but for now, this is a stay away for me.

Used to be a really nice, reasonably priced salad soup and sandwich place. Now they upped the prices and their food isn’t even worth it anymore. Paid 13$ for this small salad, barely any toppings. The workers nowadays are in no rush to get your food quick at all.

Love the salads here. Favorite is the classic ceaser. I get it medium chopped and it is perfect. The restaurant is always very clean and welcoming. I get in get my order and get out quickly. Definitely a favorite.

Iowa City classic coffee shop. Excellent food, especially the large chop salads and of course great coffee. The baristas are typically quite good and deliver a consistently high quality coffee of your particular choice. Very nice atmosphere is conducive to small meetings as well as time with friends
