Greeted and seated quickly. We started with the beet salad (it was delicious) and also ordered a deep dish pizza (also delicious). Service was fantastic, food was great and we enjoyed our Tuesdate at heirloom

The wings made in the dry, spicy rub were really good. The pizza was okay. We got two orders of wings and a large pizza and it was over $90 by the time I tipped!!! Wings were $20 each. Staff was nice. The pizza wasn’t as good as some have mentioned, the breading was a little rubbery and the sauce tasted like jarred sauce. The dipping sauce with dill seasoning was so different and very good. I finally tried it but if I come back, I guess I’ll do the deep dish pizza and see if that’s the one people are taking about.

If I could give a half star rating I would, so count this as a 4.5 out of 5 star review. The target star of the show at Heirloom pizza is their pizza sauce. It complements the cheesy garlic bread well and really brings together the deep dish pizza. The thin crust is good too!
Now in terms of the deep dish pizza. Im from the Midwest, just north of Chicago. This isnt deep dish, but its not bad. It is actually the best deep dish we’ve had in California. If youre looking for a classic Chicago style pie, youll be disappointed. But if youre looking for a play on Chicago style, its worth a try!
In terms of service, we’ve had two servers. One was fairly unnatenntive but overall they weren’t rude or standoff ish. The other person we had was phenomenal. Brought refills, gave us updates, and packed our left overs nicely.
If youre looking for take out, we’ve done that with the thin crust and cheesy bread. I wouldnt do the cheesy bread again. If youre within 5-10 minutes youd probably have better luck with that. The pizza was fine and it reheated well enough.
We will be back as its our #2 pizza place in Monterey.

It’s just a short walk from Del Monte Ave., in a quieter part of town. We loved the light Shimmer Pilsner, which comes in a pretty can too. The cheesy garlic bread was a good appetizer, and that kept our hunger at bay while we waited for our deep dish pizza! It took about 20 minutes. The pizza may look messy, but is oh so good!! A small can easily be shared by three people.

I believe I reviewed this place years ago. It’s been amazing every time we come to Monterey. My husband and I are visiting for my birthday and subsequently we have to visit this time. They have online ordering which made it super easy. I even got a first time order discount. We are so excited to have this pizza again. Thanks Heirloom for making it so easy!

What a wonderful dinner for my family. 3 generations and everyone loved it. Pizza, cheese garlic bread, wings. All delicious. Update 9/2025… the toppings on our deep Dish pie were pretty much non existent. It was all tomatoes. So the pizza was a 1ish… the wings and cheesy bread were a 4. Service was also sad. We had to go and ask for our ticket. I was never asked if I would like another beverage when mine was empty.

Great food and excellent service. We had several thin-crust pizzas with interesting flavor combos, which were all excellent, and a Caesar Salad, dressed just right. A bit off the beaten path but still walkable from the center of town. Our kids were loud but no one seemed to mind and our server was very attentive to them.

This place was pretty good! The server was very nice and attentive and even proactively addressed the issue when they delivered me the wrong pizza (I hadn’t even noticed). The pizza itself was quite flavorful, not bland like other deep dish pizzas I’ve had before. The sauce was tangy and there was a good amount of cheese. My only criticism was the crust was lacking in flavor. It was crispy and blended well with the topping but wasn’t very compelling on its own. Overall I’d recommend though. Great experience.

Best feel dish pizza I’ve had and that includes what I’ve eaten in Chicago. The tomatoes used are very fresh and flavorful. The dough was the perfect consistency and crunch. The wings were also very delicious! Great and friendly service and the perfect meal after a half marathon. Will definitely be going back next time I’m in Monterey.
