Considering Taco trucks in Mid-Town Tampa, there’s a lot of competition. With a menu palette of essentially four ingredients, standing out is a challenge.
But
Given the right location, the right quality of those four ingredients, and the right portions, standing out is doable.
So I recommend Hectors Mexican Food truck because the location is right (for me), the portions are exactly what you want for the price (perhaps even generous considering other trucks at the price point), and the quality is outstanding.
But it is important to note a sign they have over the window: it’s fresh food, not fast food. Be prepared to enjoy a shaded outdoor patio, that if had cornhole, would be perfect.

They get new owners? Prices went up a little bit. We usually order #6 tacos and #16 torta al pastor. With mango aqua fresca. I think this food truck is pretty good. Fresh quality ingredients, authentic. The workers are nice and patient. The food does take about 10+ minutes but worth the wait. I’ve never been here in the daytime usually late night after midnight for good food option.

This was an awesome experience. We got the taco Supreme and they tasted very authentic and the food came out nice and hot! The green sauce they give you has a good amount of kick! We liked the steak over the pork yet both where great. Thanks cant wait to come back. Eat local and get Mexican food where the local hard working Hispanics go!
