My family and I came here while visiting my grandparents. When we walked into the restaurant, they helped my grandmother to her chair. The waitress was a young lady who was friendly and answered all of our questions about the menu. She was very busy but the service was quick despite this issue. We ordered the fried pork chops, fish, ribs, and all the sides lol. The only side we didn’t like were the greens because of the strong vinegar taste. We would definitely return to this establishment when we are back in the area. Much love from Houston. ❤️

I ordered fried chicken,Mac n cheese green beans corn bread. Chicken is made to order so no stale chicken that’s been sitting around, I liked the flavors chicken was moist and tender. The Mac n cheese well good but nothing you can’t get anyplace else.
I will say though that the greenbeans where the best I have ever tried. I could only eat about half of my food so serving size is generous. I actually liked the food leftovers also so two meals for me.

Me and my wife were in town for a few days. First time in the city and looking for something good to eat. I found this place and it didn’t disappoint. Being from Georgia I’m hard on soul food spots. BUT this place definitely didn’t disappoint. The chicken was super crispy. Yams and Mac and cheese great. The kool aid was a great surprise as well. Ohhhhh and let’s not forget the peach cobbler omg. Well if you’re anywhere in the area gooooooooo.

I was so impressed by this restaurant’s fresh food, hospitality, and service. My friend and I came here mid-January 2026. I had been excited to try the restaurant out since their opening in summer of 2025. Pictured is a combo meal with ribs, sweet potatoes, mac & cheese, and a two-piece chicken (thigh and leg) meal. The flavors of all the food were fantastic and everything was cooked to perfection. I’d recommend this place to anyone & everyone… And I can’t wait to return.

I recently attended brunch and wanted to share my feedback. I paid $107.00 for three people, which felt quite pricey considering the overall setup and presentation.
We were served on paper plates with plastic utensils, and the drink options were limited to canned soda and Kool-Aid. For the price being charged, I expected a more professional and polished buffet setup, including better presentation and beverage options. I strongly encourage you to invest in upgrading the overall dining setup to better align with your pricing.
As for the food, there were definitely some highlights. The mac and cheese was very good, the green beans were delicious, the loaded mashed potatoes were flavorful, and the prime rib was tender and seasoned well. The BBQ chicken wings were good, and the fried fish was excellent.
However, the steamed vegetables lacked seasoning, and the sweet potatoes were overly sweet — far too much sugar, in my opinion.

This food is remarkably good, very fresh and delivers on what it’s supposed to be. It’s family owned and run And you really feel that when you are there. They are local folks I believe, not transplants from say the South, which makes it even nicer that their soul food is so good.
I had given up on soul food in town since getting disenfranchised from my default place on Elmwood. I’m really glad this is here, that the people make you right at home, and that it tastes as incredible as it does.

I ordered the chicken dinner with Mac n cheese, yams, and a piece of cornbread. Everything was fresh, seasoned well to perfection, and the chicken was piping hot. I definitely got my money’s worth and couldn’t finish it all. I’ll be back for sure to try their Sunday brunch. The mac n cheese was so rich and delicious, the fried chicken was crispy and seasoned to perfection.

My food was delicious, the environment was relaxed, very clean, and the staff was professional. It’s a vibe there, they also had nice music playing. My 1st time ordering I got a fish shrimp bombo. As my sides I had baked mac and string beans, I also ordered a peach cobbler for dessert. Everything was delicious enough that I’ll go back, next time I’ll order order something different. I highly recommend for soul food, I hope ya’ll stay around for years. Thank ya’ll .
