We had the most incredible meal here for my husband’s birthday. What a culinary gem in south Jersey! It’s also BYOB so don’t forget your favorite bottle of wine 🙂
The staff is so attentive and kind – they helped us have a comfortable and amazing experience as a family even with an active toddler. We had the tasting menu and loved every single bite. Everything is flavorful and interesting and unexpected in the best way. We left so full and excited to return!

First time at this restaurant. The food was excellent but very spicy with some of our group commenting that their mouth was on fire. Service was outstanding. My problem with Hearthside is their deceptive pricing. We were handed 2 menus. One was Ala Carter and the other supposedly “price fix” menu for $100 per person. There were 6 people in our group and we all chose the price fix menu. When the bill came it was $790 and not the $600 we all expected. When questioned, our server explained that there was upcharges for certain items on the menu that accounted for the difference. She said that she had explained this but none of us in the group heard her say that when she explained the menu to us. Also, when we made our selections, she did not mention that several of our choices would incur “supplemental charges”. Very deceptive and not very ethical. I would not recommend this restaurant.

We had a great dining experience. The food was prepared well, it was served hot, and the service was excellent. Our server, River, enthusiastically described every course and was patient with ordering. We stayed a bit longer than we should and did not feel pressured to leave. We went to Cooks liquors and bought the wine pairing as well. Both wines were good and complimented the food perfectly.

It’s hard to describe my experience in a short amount of characters. The food is some of the best I’ve ever had. We eat in center city Philadelphia often and Hearthside blows most of these restaurants out of the water! I loved that their wine pairing was available for purchase at cooks liquor. The wine I selected paired perfectly. Every single course blew me away and was meticulously crafted!

The service is excellent. Our glasses were always full, water bottle refilled many times, table wiped between courses, new plates & silverware, every worker that did something at the table said happy anniversary & were friendly. I got full after the 2nd course & still had chicken & dessert coming. It’s a lot of food. We took only a few bites of the entree so we could eat our desserts & will eat the rest at home. The menu is pretty spicy this time & a bit heavy, more of a fall menu it felt, but we had a great time. This restaurant is always consistent which is wonderful.

For a $200 aged medium-rare ribeye to be charred so much that the ashy texture overwhelmed everything, this place disappointed at the price point. The appetizer and pasta were excellent, and the server was always there to refill drinks and change plates. Noted this was a birthday on my reservation, reminded the server, and nothing special was done. Spending $200 a person without drinks, I expect better.

Such a cute spot with delicious food! Ambiance was nice, loved the vibe. Everything we ordered was shared family style. The tagliatelle w/ braised duck was so flavorful and everyone’s favorite. Mussels w/ coconut curry was different but very good. Focaccia was grilled nicely. The hostess was friendly and our waiter was superb. He was attentive, knowledgeable and really paced our meal well. The only thing we didn’t really like was the peach cobbler. Not much peach flavor and brie didn’t do anything for the dish. Overall we think our dining experience was excellent! We will be back.

Had dinner here last night for a very good friends birthday. This place was amazing and I can’t wait to go back! We had the prix fixe menu, for a party of 9, there was more than enough food for everyone and we had to take some home. Every dish was very good, although below are definitely my favorites for the night.
Octopus – exquisitely tender and succulent, yields effortlessly to the fork, revealing the artistry of its preparation. Its delicate, caramelized exterior boasts a mesmerizing golden hue, a testament to the masterful searing technique employed. The faint aroma of the sea embraces the senses, a gentle reminder of its origin and the authenticity of the dish.
Pork belly with bok choy (my favorite for the night) – practically melts in the mouth, revealing layers of rich, unctuous goodness. The bok choy, a brilliant choice of accompaniment, brings balance to the dish with its crisp texture and refreshing taste. Cooked to perfection, it retains its vibrant green color and offers a delightful contrast to the richness of the pork belly.
Seared scallops – glistening with a delicate caramelized crust, are a sight to behold. Each plump morsel showcases the artistry in achieving the ideal sear, a balance of high heat and perfect timing that locks in the scallop’s natural sweetness.
The fried green tomatoes with crab – showcase of culinary creativity. With a crisp golden crust that offers a satisfying crunch, they embrace the tangy yet slightly sweet flavor of the unripe tomatoes. Each bite is a delightful contrast of textures, with the tender interior offering a burst of freshness and juiciness.
And then, there’s the pièce de résistance – the crown of succulent crab meat adorning the tomatoes. The luxurious sweetness of the crab effortlessly marries with the tomatoes’ tanginess, creating a harmonious and decadent pairing that delights the palate.
I am reliving my experience as I am writing this review and is making me hungry all over again. Definitely a keeper and we will be back. LOVE IT!!!

On 2/23, I celebrated my 30th birthday at the chef’s table at Hearthside and will never forget it. From the first course to the last, every bite was incredible. The meal was only elevated by the quality of service. Our server was so attentive and talked through each menu item with such patience. It truly was my favorite meal ever and I am eager to go back!

average food. understaffed for a busy restaurant. great atmosphere. should wear business casual. try not to come in with jeans and tshirt.
appetizers are great. pasta is bland. scallop and pork is very salty. maybe too salty.
desserts are okay. $90 for 4 course tasting menu.
you have to supplement for a few dishes.
have to make reservation. not vegetarian friendly.
