Welcome to Hearth and Harrow — a restaurant, bistro, and outdoor patio where friends can relax and families can gather. At the center of the restaurant area, you’ll find a hearth oven. Our name highlights that signature feature and connects back to Pleasant View’s heritage of the family farm. Our goal is to partner with local, Lancaster County food vendors to bring the Farm-to-Table movement to our community.

What a lovely place for dinner. We were there with a friend that is in line for a new cottage. We drove the community before dinner and thought it would quite a nice place to live.
We ordered at the counter, and someone brought our meal to our table. The staff came by to bring us our drinks and to refill them as needed.
The dining room was spacious, neat, clean, and well lit, with natural light coming through the big windows.

I’ve eaten her many times. I absolutely love the food and the staff is very nice. Ginger always is so kind and goes out of her way to provide the best service. Unfortunately the manager Kristin can’t have the same said about her. Her discussions are very inappropriate especially with residents. Her attitude makes me not want to dine here again. Others have said the same, how sad. The restaurant atmosphere, food, and staff are wonderful. One person is making it bad.

Stopped in after seeing a TV commercial. This restaurant is located inside a retirement community. You order and pay as you arrive. They assign you a number and you find a table to sit. Jason was the person that took our order and waited on our table. I got the Beef on Weck per Jason’s recommendation. Glad I did. It was excellent. My wife got the Barbecue Chicken Panini. She loved it. I also got a lager beer from Funk Brewery. It was tasty. It’s not a very close drive but we would definitely go back. There’s plenty of parking. The dining room isn’t enormous but they also have outdoor seating. I almost forgot. The French fries were also delicious.

A really good place for brunch. They have plenty of seating both indoor and outdoor. We were greeted by a very nice lady and showed to our table. They have a nice menu and we loved everything we ordered. Definitely going again if we ever visit Mt. Gretna again

As nearby residents of Manheim, we dine there a few times a month and highly recommend Hearth & Harrow restaurant for its variety of fresh and reasonably priced dinners. Their expertise and attention to detail really shone last month when I made plans for my husband’s milestone surprise birthday celebration for 50+ friends and family. Their catering manager, Ginger, is amazing! She listened to my ideas and apprehensions about the evening and set my mind at ease with her expert guidance. She provided great input, was open to trying new things, and provided a nice selection of food and drink options to consider. Ginger and her staff were a pleasure to work with and were attentive to us and our guest’s needs throughout this memorable evening. Our celebration was a great success (and was a real surprise for him!) Our only regret is that we couldn’t stay longer…
P.S. Many guests were unaware of H&H before that night, and praised the welcoming atmosphere, the great food, and friendly service, and planned to go back again soon to check out more of their menu offerings!

It was a nice experience! It’s right inside of a retirement home. It’s on the smaller side, but a lot of people get food to go. The food was delicious & tasty! They make their own barbecue chips, which was lovely. Overall a great experience!

I arrived at 1:30pm and I ordered a BYO Omlette with Ham, Veggies + Pepper Jack Cheese with a side of sweet potatoe fries and it also came with hash browns and toast. Everything came out in great time and tasted beyond expectations i had to ask for the chef. Kaso came out and I gave him my best compliment. 5 stars all around. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

My wife and I must have hit a very off day. The weather was superb on this particular day so I got this idea to travel up to Manheim and have a nice open air lunch on the patio of this restaurant. After perusing the menu board, we decided on paninis. An angry looking man behind the counter tells us that the pain is maker is not working then quickly disappears into rhr kitchen. We then picked different choices from the melt list. I chose sliced roast beef with provolone cheese on a soft hero roll and my wife ordered a chicken breast fillet on a bun. I began by trying to cut my sandwich in half, which totally failed do to the gristle content. In fact, it was so bad that all of the meat was dragged out of the rolled. I would estimate that 75% of the meat in my roll was pure gristle. I tore what meat I could find off of the gristle with my finfers and stuffed it in what was left of the roll. Meanwhile, my wife was struggling with a 3/4″ dry chicken filled until she finally gave up. We both became so disgusted that we just got up, hopped in the car and drove home vowing to never return. I almost forgot to mention, the unsweetened ice tea was just fine.

It’s kind of a cafeteria in a senior citizen village in the same building as some medical offices. The food was good and the service was great. They didn’t care that I wasn’t a resident, but they did ask. Very nice place, very quiet.

This spot is a favorite for my mom and I to have a quick bite. We have never had a bad meal and we have tried many items on the menu. Ordering is at the counter but then a server will bring your food and drinks to the table. Some of our favorites are the club sandwich and the Reuben. Don’t sleep on their fries either, totally worth the upgrade with your meal. Yes, you can have a great meal at a retirement community!
