Amazing food and service… Gewnivere is awesome!

Mexican pizza was awesome. Would be great if they added jalapeños and/or some Mexican Cremosa.

Chicken Tikka Marsalla was 100 put of 10!

Wine list is good. Wish they had a lambrusco or a sparkling rose, though

My wife and I had a reservation at Hearsay on the Strand for early afternoon to meet our daughter, who ended up being very late. What could have been an awkward wait turned into an exceptional experience thanks to the service and atmosphere, especially our server Sam Sr., who took incredible care of us for our lunch.

The drinks were spectacular and the food was outstanding, so much so that we decided on the spot to make another reservation for later that evening and specifically asked to be seated in Sam Sr.’s section again when our daughter could finally join us.

When we returned that night, the experience was just as phenomenal. The filet mignon was perfectly cooked and absolutely mouthwatering. The smoky old-fashioned was a showstopper, served under a smoke-filled cover that, once lifted, delivered both drama and a beautifully balanced smoky flavor. The whiskey sours were perfectly executed and garnished with premium cherries and dried orange slices.

Dessert sealed the deal. We had bread pudding, a Dubai chocolate dessert, and cheesecake, all of which were excellent. We also enjoyed multiple rounds of espresso martinis because they were simply too good to stop at one.

Sam Sr. was warm, attentive, and genuinely exceptional during both visits. This was our first experience at Hearsay on the Strand, and it absolutely will not be our last. We will be back and will be asking for Sam Sr. every time.

I made a reservation for a special birthday dinner. We were seated promptly and the service was excellent. The food was great too! We had a charcuterie to start with and that was my favorite! He had the NewYork strip and I had the chicken pasta and both were really good! Last but not least, the bread pudding is to die for!

Just the ambiance I’ve been looking for on the Island. The dim lighting, wine glasses and candles illuminating every table created an elegant vibe. It’s romantic, warm, and still accommodating for larger groups. The vibe feels elevated, but relaxed. I made a reservation but I didn’t need to. If you’re familiar with this time of year on the island, it’s usually a bit of a ghost town. We parked directly in front of the restaurant and the hostess immediately greeted and seated us. She even recognized my name from the reservation list which was a nice touch.

It’s Galveston’s restaurant week so we ordered from the special menu to get a taste of what they have to offer. They offer a three course meal for $40 plus tax & gratuity per person. My favorite dish was the Pistachio Crusted Scallops which is part of the 2nd course, and my husband’s favorite was the Thai Currey Soup which was part of the 1st course. I also ordered the Golden Beet Salad for my 1st course and although it tasted good, it was missing the beets. We ordered our desserts to-go and gave them to our kids to enjoy which they did.
Overall the food was pretty good which added to the overall great experience so we’ll definitely visit again.

One of my favorite visual elements was the backlit bar lined with bottles that glow beautifully against the wall. It’s a perfect mood for a slow evening and a good pour. And, if you want to watch a game, the t.v. is on but it’s not loud and obtrusive. It’s not the focal point.

Lovely place right on the Strand, Christmas decor made it look very nice, but the place itself has its charm. Food was delicious, perfect combination of flavors on our Thanksgiving Sandwich. Even the vegetable plate was amazing. Service was very good as well, everyone made sure we enjoyed our visit.

My husband and I had dinner here to celebrate our first anniversary and had a really wonderful time! We got the artisan bread board as a starter and LOVED the whipped herb butter. For drinks my husband got Bullet whiskey (one of our favs) and I got the Watermelon No-jito (because I’m not drinking right now). The No-jito was really refreshing but I highly recommend stirring it before you taste or you might end up with a mouthful of lime juice, which was quite a shock for me but definitely woke me up
For our mains I got a cup of the Thai Curry Soup (10/10, ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐, will absolutely order again next time) and the vegetable platter with couscous (also really delicious and light, just what I needed), while my husband got the steak and mashed potatoes with a side of brussel sprouts. The brussel sprouts had this balsamic sauce that was SO good, and the steak had a mushroom sauce that was very flavorful.

Our server, Sam Sr., was incredibly attentive and friendly, congratulating us on our wedding anniversary and making sure our food and drinks were satisfactory. We really enjoyed chatting with him and definitely will try to sit in his section again in the future! He also let us know we were getting a bread pudding dessert on the house, which was super nice!! The bread pudding came out hot with a scoop of ice cream and caramel sauce, and omgggg I wasn’t sure I had any more room after dinner but my stomach definitely found room for that bread pudding

All in all, it was a fantastic dinner with a fantastic atmosphere, and my husband and I were very grateful to Hearsay and Sam Sr. for it.

If you ever want to dine in ask for Sam! He was so kind and genuinely made our experience 10x better. He was kind, attentive, and cracked a few funny jokes here and there. The food was great as well, my group got the filet mignon and it came with two sides. The filet was very tender and not chewy at all and cooked to the perfect amount. There were quite a few options for the two sides which I appreciate. And I ordered a the Bowtie cocktail and it was dangerous! You can barely taste the alcohol, very sweet, reminded me of a pink lemonade, and I could definitely order 2-3 more! Overall Sam made our experience so enjoyable. I would come back just to have him as our server!

Great service and a friendly staff that helped identify gluten free and celiac safe options for appetizer, drinks, and dinner! I felt bad, but we were so stuffed by the end we could not try out any of the dessert options! What a great treat of place! And the Hearsay Old Fashioned has a great smoked presentation!

Hearsay on the Strand is an absolute gem! From the moment you walk in, the atmosphere is stylish, welcoming, and full of character. The cocktails are expertly crafted, the food is flavorful and beautifully presented, and the service, especially Mateo is top-notch—attentive without being overbearing. Whether you’re stopping in for drinks, dinner, or a special night out, Hearsay delivers a fantastic experience every time. A must-visit spot in Galveston that didn’t disappoint!
