It was very good, and service was okay, but for the money you are spending it’s really not worth it.
To start the night, I ended up getting sparkling water, nothing out the ordinary and my companion got a fix drink.
After that we ordered the waygu meatballs and bread platter.
First of all the small “dough balls” we’re raw in the inside as I know bread and that is was raw , on top of that they were all burned on the bottom the meatballs were fairly average, and but my question was why get waygu to make a Italian dish, in Texas? That’s did cause me quite a chuckle.
I ended up getting the New York strip and my friend the salmon
It was average nothing out the ordinary, my green beans were nice and crunchy.
Smashed potatoes were good.
We didn’t get dessert nothing seemed appetizing to me.
All I’m saying is, it wants to upscale and nice, but came as average and not worth the amount.
My husband ordered an Old Fashioned which he said was top notch. We ordered the charcuterie board for our appetizer. It was great, such a variety. The little things like the baby cilantro added such a nice touch of freshness. We were barely able to eat half of it and took the rest home. Hubby ordered the Espresso Rubbed pork chop for his entree. I don’t like pork literally ever but I tried a a bite and just wow! It was juicy, tender and so incredibly flavorful.
I ordered the short rib and in all honesty was a little disappointed. It was more like eating a roast made in my crockpot than a shortrib. It came over cheesy grits but because of the sauce from the shortrib the cheesiness didn’t really come through and it felt like I was just eating roast over mashed potatoes. It wasn’t bad by any stretch of the imagination, just not to the standard I was expecting. The brussel sprouts were cooked perfectly.
Now onto the dessert; we ordered the bread pudding, the chocolate cheesecake and the creme brulee. Yes we ordered 3 desserts. Creme brulee was softer than I’ve had in the past but not in a negative way, just different. The chocolate cheesecake was definitively more chocolate than cheesecake. This was especially true right after being served but the cheesecake came through a bit more after warming up on the table. The one thing that I would just give a thumbs down to would be the bread pudding. It was dry. Bread pudding should be drenched in custard and glaze, it should be decadent. This one comes with vanilla ice cream on top was good but not good enough to make up for how dry the dish was even after the ice cream had melted. We are picky about our bread pudding but of all the bread puddings we’ve tried at various restaurants, this one would sadly take last place. We had a hazelnut cappuccino with out desserts which was solid. Again, we will definitely be back, we’re excited to try more items from the menu and enjoy the unique ambience offered by this establishment.
Tonight [11/6] we dined in celebration of my birthday. We were originally seated near the gentleman playing guitar. When I mentioned it being loud our waiter offered to move us to the patio. I was very pleased.
Food – 100.
Drinks – 100.
Service – 150.
It was clean and staged beautifully.
Will return.
Gumbo had the perfect kick to it with big shrimp.
Salad was hearty.
Charcuterie Board is a must!
Ribeye was cooked perfectly and you barely needed a knife for it. Seasoning was perfect on it.
Drinks were good.
The chandelier-lit atmosphere with good jams is also a great touch!
Highly recommend Hearsay’s!
