Headlands On Campus is a lively brewpub and beer garden located on Bancroft Way in the heart of UC Berkeley. Serving craft beer, smash burgers, and delicious food in a welcoming campus atmosphere, it’s designed as a gathering place for students, alumni, and the Berkeley community. Headlands brings a fresh take on the classic campus hangout with handcrafted brews, shareable food, and a spacious patio perfect for meeting friends before or after class, games, and campus events. Students can enjoy a BOGO burger deal — two smash burgers for $11.50 — along with other rotating specials designed to help keep things affordable while on campus. All ages welcome!

What a totally rad spot! Headlands has done it again, and now offers another great taproom to enjoy their awesome beers. 5/5 stars for food, drinks, service, and ambience. A HUGE improvement from the Bear’s Lair. Need another reason to come support this awesome business? Our bartender informed us that Headlands has donated over $130,000 to local environmental non-profits since 2022. Wow!

It’s high time Berkeley gets its true, authentic Cal bar on campus, beyond convenient for pregaming ANY Golden Bears sporting event or watching away games! Big TVs inside and outside on the patio, excellent food and a glorious selection of beer, plus a full bar! Any student, alum, tourist, or fan is going to marvel at all the special touches, from bar stool spots dedicated to famous, important, or surprising Cal alums, bobblehead brew taps, and lots of blue and gold love throughout. I went to Headlands on Campus for the CAL football season opener against osu. What a great place. The Outside beer garden is a perfect place to watch an away game with other CAL fans. The place honors CAL sports heroes from the past with seat plaques and there are CAL easter eggs all over the place. Food was good and Headlands makes great beer. Highly recommend!!!

I visited this newly opened spot for lunch on Thursday and had a great experience! The service was friendly and attentive, food served hot and quickly, and the outdoor back patio was very comfortable and relaxing. My colleagues and I walked away satisfied and will be happy to return. Highly recommend the chicken sandwich with seasoned fries.

Nothing will ever replace the OG Bears Lair, but Headlands is making space for new memories. Great food and great beer (including Bear Republic’s Oski’s California Gold) and a healthy respect for tradition in the design (see plaques at the bar honoring Cal greats, like Marshawn Lynch, Mark Bingham, and Julia Morgan). Go Bears.
