Was looking around for an Indian restaurant & HBK caught my eye. Went in for a late lunch & was happy to have visited this place.

We had a plain dosa, a masala dosa, a boneless mutton fry dum (biriyani), a Murgh Afgani, and closed it with a Gajar ka halwa.

The flavors were spot on, medium level spice was just right. The seasonings could be tasted well.

One could taste the ghee which gave the richness to the gajar ka halwa but it could use a tad more firmness (should have been cooked down a little more).

The meat in the biriyani & the murgh afgani were salt forward. I would have rated the food 5 stars if not for this.

We’ve recently visited family in Houston and tried out food at HBK and it was simply out of the world. Hands down, one of the best Indian places I’ve eaten in a long time (we live in Raleigh which has a ton of Indian food options but nothing comes close to this one). We tried their haleem, nalli gosht biryani, butter chicken, wheat naan, mutton pulao amongst a few others. Everything was cooked and seasoned to perfection. My personal favorites are the mutton pulao, haleem and nalli gosht biryani. We ordered a bunch of appetizers and they were all simply superb!! I was very impressed with their service too. To top it off, their ambience was very pleasant and soft on the eyes. If you are a Houston local or visiting, I def recommend checking this place out and you will not be disappointed. I enjoy good tasty authentic south Indian food and this hits the spot!!

My husband had been here one time, closer to the opening date. He said that it took a long time for his food to be delivered, but it was really good. We were looking forward to going, and there was only one other table in the restaurant, a table of two. We ordered four entrées and naan.

We ordered 2 kormas, chicken tikka masala, and chicken biryani. The korma sauce was right on super delicious, but I was super disappointed because the vegetables inside the korma were extremely overcooked and I believe previously frozen. The chicken dishes were apparently really good. But everything was served at different times in fact, we finished the three entrées before my husband got his entrée. The service wasn’t amazing. Our waitress gave us our food and refilled our water once. She was friendly just not really checking up on us. Prob won’t be back.

We had a wonderful dining experience at this Indian restaurant. The food was absolutely delicious, authentic, and full of rich flavors. Every dish tasted fresh and well-prepared, with the perfect balance of spices—not overpowering, just right.

The quality of ingredients really stood out, and the presentation was great as well. From the appetizers to the main course, everything was consistently excellent. The portions were generous, and the food felt truly comforting and homemade.

Highly recommend this place for anyone looking for authentic Indian food and a great dining experience. We will definitely be coming back!

My friends and I recently enjoyed a delightful lunch at this wonderful restaurant, and the food was simply outstanding. The flavors were very authentic, representing the best of Indian cuisine. From the appetizers to the desserts, every dish we ordered was absolutely delicious. Finding a truly authentic Indian restaurant in this area has been a challenge, but this gem has quickly become our go-to spot. I highly recommend trying their dum biryani if you visit—it’s a must! For vegetarians, their chinta chiguru paneer, gobi, and various pulao options are also exceptional and well worth trying.

The food seemed slightly off… either overly salty or lacking flavor. While it wasn’t necessarily bad, I didn’t find it particularly enjoyable.

Had a great time at HBK – House of Biryanis and Kebabs. The cozy setting, friendly service, and quick food felt like home. We ordered a range of dishes, and while everything was good, the Goat Haleem and Nalli Ghosht Biryani stood out. The haleem was creamy and delicious—even during off-season—and the biryani looked great and tasted heavenly. Portion size was generous, spice level was just right, and all worth the price. Whether lunch or dinner, HBK is sure to be a repeat destination for me.

OMG. I mean really, OMG.

Hey, HBK Houston, do you have a special license to serve the best Indian food in Texas?

Not to be too much of a snob but I’ve had Indian food from all over the states. All over the San Francisco Bay area, Las Vegas, Houston, New York City, London (England), and Singapore. Of all those I gotta say this place is in the top three. Maybe the top two out of all of them.

The food is just… Perfect. We’ve been here twice and, with no overlap between each order, everything was super amazingly delicious.

The service is excellent too. Very patient and polite. Although, maybe it’s just me but I think they need to speak a bit louder.

The place can get noisy when it’s nearly a full house. You can still converse but extra volume is required.

The menu is quite large too. I want to try everything! I have this insecurity that this place will disappear before I’ve been able to have all of the dishes.

I have three benchmarks for Indian cuisine. The first is the naan.

This place blew my mouth away with their incredible naan. The ‘plain’ naan is the absolute best I’ve had in at least twenty years. Just amazing in every category. Their Bullet Naan is also exquisite!

The second benchmark of Indian cuisine for me is their navratan kurma.

Theirs was spot on and I couldn’t stop eating it. So fresh and topped off with awesome paneer.

The last benchmark is the masala chai. It’s good. Very good, but not the best. Bummer. But there is excellent masala chai nearby.

Special shout out goes to Hyderabadi Chicken 65. It’s a but creamier than regular Chicken 65 and it has an extra touch of citrus too. It’s a wonderful take on a fantastic dish. So yummy.

We’ll be back that’s for sure.
