Kay- when I asked her how it’s spelled she said,” listen it’s a “K”- and we all burst out laughing! Great start! we were greeted by our hostess and another of her team members, and they were both very friendly; our waitress K, very funny and very personable. She has great energy. When I asked of a recommendation between lasagna or stuff, so she highly recommended the lasagna with great confidence I might add. My husband ordered the prime rib and he ordered a medium rare. He also opted for the French onion soup on the side and I asked for a salad with Greek dressing. It’s a vinaigrette it has feta in it.

I haven’t been to the Hazelwood Inn in years. I ate on the bar side, and there were a lot of flies around the table. The menu on the table was greasy. It didn’t feel really clean, but I was with a friend and didn’t want to ruin our time together. The Happy Hour prices are really reasonable. My drinks were awesome, peach strawberry sangria and shots of tequila. I ordered the southwest egg rolls, and they were fried too hard and too greasy. It tasted as if they came from old old grease. I ate most of one, but that was it. My friend ordered honey old bay wings, the sauce was good but the chicken itself was not, too hard. The meat was hard, and I’ve been to places where you ask for wings fried hard, and it still tastes good. I really think the grease was not right. I ordered shrimp cocktail w/old bay, I figured no one could go wrong with that. They were delicious, and there was plenty to share. I was disappointed about some of my food. However, I know what to get when I eat on the bar side and be prepared to endure flies.

Figured we try Hazelwood inn for lunch today. Big mistake. We got the special, soft crab sandwiches. Tasted and smelled like bad fish. If it wasn’t take out , it would have been sent back. Was once my favorite restaurant. It seems like all the restaurants in the Rosedale area have declined. Worst soft crab sandwich ever. But oil and old seafood.
