I usually go to the hazelwoods by the mall (which i love!) but I was in the area and wanted to try this location. The food and service is just as good at this location! The shrimp and scallop scampi was delicious, lots of tender shimps and scallops and the angel hair pasta was cooked perfectly. My partner got the fish special with orzo and that was a 10/10. The fish was moist and tender and the orzo was packed with flavor. I cannot recommend hazelwoods enough!

Hazelwood. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
One of my favorite places in Minnesota—day and night.
The food, the atmosphere, the people, the music, the warmth.
Breakfast, lunch, dinner, coffee, dessert—Hazelwood has everything.
It’s the kind of place you meet friends, think, write, breathe… and remember who you are.
My daughter loves this place.
Some of my favorite memories with her happened right here.
I miss her more than anything in the world.
I hope Judge Iverson understands this:
I am not violent.
I am not a “gun nut.”
I am not a threat.
I’m a dad.
I’m someone who loves deeply.
I’m someone who finds peace in places like this—coffee, music, good food, familiar faces.
Hazelwood has been a safe space for me.
A grounding space.
A human space.
If you’re in Minnesota, go to Hazelwood.
Sit. Eat. Listen. Feel.
And if you’re lucky enough—bring your kid.
Those days matter more than anything.

My husband and I came here for lunch today. The service provided by Terri was great. She was very friendly, knowledgeable and kind. The food came out very fresh and fast. We got the wings which were absolutely amazing and the sauce comes on the side. Once you take a bit of these wings as they will understand why. They are so amazing with zero sauce, which is rare to see. We also got the margarita pizza, but instead of the red sauce we got the butter sauce. It was absolutely amazing, and they cook it in a pizza specific oven. We will definitely be back and if you are debating on coming here it is worth the stop! They also have a TON of seating. They also have a very nice and clean bathroom, which always wins me over.

Delicious food and charming atmosphere – AND they take gluten free very seriously! Make a reservation! My husband and I came here for his birthday on a Thursday night and it was packed! We were seated within five minutes because we had a reservation. The menu is generous and there is lots of tasty things to choose from, many of which can be made gluten free. I told our waitress I had Celiac and my meal was made with extra precautions to avoid cross contamination. I went with the Surf & Turf and it was absolutely phenomenal – so delicious! My husband loved his salmon dinner. To top it all off our waitress brought my husband a bowl of ice cream with a birthday candle because I told her it was his birthday, which I thought was a very sweet gesture. We will definitely come here again for a date night.

First time we came here probably a year ago now, they directed us to the lower bar because the upper bar was too busy, ok fine. We were the only ones at the lower bar and the bartender was the rudest person I’ve ever met. Asked us what we wanted as soon as we sat down and didn’t come back to ask us for our order for another 10 minutes (mind you, they just opened the lower bar so it was just me and my husband there—NOT busy at all.) We tried to get his attention multiple times but he kept ignoring us: so we left. Never placed an order and walked right out. Haven’t been back but wanted to give them another try a week ago. This time, my husband and I wanted a table with one other friend but were put on the waiting list. Host said it would be short, we even got the app to see how many minutes it would be-we sat at the main bar. It was late, probably 8 pm and 3 full tables were empty and cleared that we could see but no notification that our table was ready (you can see how many people are ahead of you on the waitlist in the app, and it said 1-2). So we patiently waited, my husband and our friend already finished their drinks, and the tables were still empty 5-10 minutes later. My husband checked the app again and it said that the our reservation was cancelled…although we were still sitting at the main bar. We had to go to the front and ask what was happening and they clearly forgot about our table. Long story short, the food was okay but the service has time and time again been horrible. We’ll go to one of the many other good restaurants 5 min away in excelsior than go here again.

Hazelwood is one of our favorite go-to spots, and for good reason! Most of their food is consistently great, and we’ve tried quite a bit of the menu over multiple visits. This time, we ordered the Shrimp & Scallop Scampi and the Angel Hair Pasta with Chicken & Shrimp. Both dishes were flavorful, well-prepared, and satisfying. For appetizers, we had the wings, which were a great start to the meal.
The food is always a highlight here, but the service deserves a shoutout too–it’s consistently awesome! The staff is friendly, attentive, and really helps make the experience enjoyable.
They have a parking lot, which is convenient, but it tends to fill up quickly, so finding a spot can sometimes be a bit tricky.
Overall, Hazelwood is a reliable spot for delicious food, great service, and a welcoming atmosphere. We’ll definitely keep coming back for more!

Don’t skip this restaurant if in the area and looking for a good meal. We’ve been privileged enough to have breakfast, lunch and dinner here as well as stop in for a drink or two. The servers and bartenders are friendly and knowledgeable. Get the popovers with your meal after 5 PM, thank me later. End with the dessert trio… The BEST!!

The steak was cooked perfectly and full of flavor, and the salmon was equally well prepared—fresh, tender, and done just right. Both dishes were impressive and clearly made with care.
I also want to recognize Jake, the manager, who helped make the meal a great experience. He was attentive, professional, and made sure everything went smoothly. Overall, excellent food and service, and I would gladly return.

Trendy, friendly, and clean. We enjoyed our time at Hazelwood! Made a reservation for brunch, no issues, place was very busy on a Saturday morning.
Very friendly server and food was solid. I saw an old post where omelettes appears to be ~$25 so didn’t want to go, but I called, and indeed, they are only ~$15.
They have a breakfast pizza, which I thought was pretty creative!! Pancakes were fluffy and buttery! Avocado toast was definitely the best item at our table though! Enjoy!!
Oh and order the large orange juice, the small is a joke. 🙂
