Arguably the best restaurant in St. Albans right now. Every different dish we had was delicious and all beautifully presented. Service was impeccable – staff were very friendly too. The restaurant has a really nice vibe to it, the only downside being how small it is. 9.5/10, with the only bad thing I can say being the scallop is expensive for just one, even if it is very tasty. Overall, a brilliant meal and we’ll definitely be back!

We had a beautiful evening at Hazéls, the service was impeccable from start to finish. Everyone was so friendly, the service was quick and efficient and very well organised. The waitresses we had were SO friendly – they all went above and beyond and it genuinely made such a difference. We had the table by the window and it was a really gorgeous experience.

The food was absolutely incredible – each dish was presented beautifully and tasted so good. The gluten free options were brilliant, there were only 4/5 things on the menu I couldn’t have.

We were celebrating my birthday and they brought me out a complimentary dessert with a candle, which was such a nice touch. Would recommend this restaurant again and again.

A great addition to the St Albans restaurant scene. Small and cosy, creating ‘tables’ from every available space, so some place settings wouldn’t be to my taste.

The food is excellent; very different taste combinations but all good. Great staff and efficient & friendly service.

I loved the vinyl; the DJ creating a great vibe/atmosphere. Not cheap but worth every penny; will definitely return.

Exceptional! Loved our time here at Hazéls and really appreciated the effort put in by the team here to make our night perfect.
Close attention was paid to my partner who had specific dietary requirements and the staff were very discreet about it.
The food was beautiful – each dish a delight on the palate. The sharing plate style was really welcomed as one starter and one main would have definitely not been enough to satisfy. However, in saying that, the quality of the dishes alone would have been enough for me to have been happy with just one.
The wine was also to die for and I can certainly see myself going back just for a few glasses.
Overall a wonderful experience!

Amazing experience from start to finish! From the moment we stepped in, it felt special and the live jazz singer really added to the vibes. The food was incredible – flavours we wouldn’t have thought to pair but worked perfectly together. We ordered the complete small plates menu for 3 of us, along with focaccia and triple-cooked chips for dipping. Standout dishes were the ham hock and parmesan croquettes, cod’s roe, and comté panisse – each one delicious!
We’ll definitely be back to try the larger plates! 10/10

Stunning restaurant experience! Beautiful, understated interior, neutral palette, wood, candles. The staff are incredible – they know the menu inside out. The music is a vibe, Studio One stuff, jazzy, very ‘London’ rather than the shires. The food was exquisite, comte panisse mouthwatering, stuffed pasta shells delicious. The fillet steak was cooked very rare, as requested, flavour intense. Pig cheeks unctious, pink firs with hollandaise beyond tasty. Brilliant experience, back in december.

We had a wonderful evening here last night in the gorgeous candlelit bistro vibe setting. The tapas style dishes are absolutely outstanding, the combination of flavours were incredible, compliments to the chef! The ham hock croquettes were on another level to any I’ve had in Spain! The pork cheeks were so tender and the stracciatella was so delicious. Service excellent too. Highly recommend!

Paris blues ? Well this restaurant is a must try to satisfy a French craving and will not fail to impress you ! Walking in you are taking a step into a bistro style French with French music and friendly staff . Emma was an amazing host and chose the best dishes for us.
I can’t choose one specific must try because each dish was made to perfection full of fantastic flavours and beautiful ingredients

This is my new favourite restaurant and I will be coming here very often

Thank you Hazels

I had the aranchini which were nice, however as i had the roast beef i was dissappinted that they used the same brasied beef in both dishes.
There was too much thyme in the aranchini and the gravy.
The croqeuttes were really good.
The beef was delicious and so was the cauliflower cheese.
However the potatoes could have been fluffier inside and the yorkshire was too dense.
Also on the menu the beef said it would be barbecued however it tasted roasted.

I found the food to overall be really good however very overpriced. That is what is holding me from coming back. I feel that the concept is great however is overpriced.

Excellent small restaurant in the centre of St Albans. Really well thought-out and presented dishes, with an intimate and relaxed/cool atmosphere. I’ve been a musician performing at their Jazz Sundays, and the team are always extremely friendly and accommodating too. A must visit for those who like their jazz and fusion music, as they have regular vinyl selectors there too.
