I went here with my brothers for lunch on a Saturday afternoon. It was not overly crowded so we were sat right away. Our waitress was great and made an excellent meal recommendation for a non burger eater in the chicken blt. We really enjoyed all the food we had including the Buffalo chicken dip, haywire burger and the spicy coleslaw! Really good overall and if I’m in the area again, we will definitely check it out again!

Went for Father’s Day and it was quiet… near empty and was thinking there would be a wait! Ate here several years ago, and the food today was not nearly as good as years past. Food was mediocre at best… burgers were blah and the fries were among the worst we have had on the shoreline. Disappointing experience considering what we were expecting. Total bill for 3 of us with tip was over $100 = 3 burgers, a beer, a shake and a glass of wine.

Came here for lunch with friends and had a great time. The boozy milkshakes were great and my friends really enjoyed their burgers. I’m not the biggest fan of burgers, so I ordered the crispy chicken sandwich, and it was okay. The fries were all great and we loved the option to “Go Haywire” and add all the toppings. I thought the menu had a great variety and some really unique choices for burgers! Definitely a good choice when you need a change from all the seafood in the area.

This restaurant clearly has the potential to earn five stars—their burgers look and sound fantastic. Unfortunately, it’s extremely disappointing that a burger-focused restaurant does not offer a plant-based burger patty as a substitution on any of their signature burgers. In this day and age, that’s a significant and avoidable oversight.
While there are a few vegetarian items on the menu, that misses the point. When people choose to go to a burger bar, they want a burger—not a grilled cheese sandwich. Offering a plant-based patty would allow vegetarians to actually participate in the core experience rather than settling for an afterthought.
What makes this especially frustrating is that this is a simple accommodation that wouldn’t require major menu changes, yet it would immediately make the restaurant more inclusive and appealing to a wider audience. My husband eats meat but refuses to dine at places that won’t accommodate my dietary preferences, so this decision costs the restaurant more than one customer. Restaurants that recognize and act on this opportunity stand to gain—those that don’t are choosing to leave customers behind.

A few years ago, I’d have given this place a 5 cause it was decently priced and had a fantastic burger. But now, with the major price increase, the fact that there’s no refills for sodas and the fact that we were literally charged for every little extra thing we asked for, it’s not deserving of a 5. I asked for pickles on my burger, they didn’t put them on so I asked for a side of pickles and was charged for that. Charged $4 for a small handful of tortilla chips to go with the chili I ordered so that the rest of the fam could try the chili. One kid got 2 sides of ranch and we were charged for both of those as well. Our total for 4 burger meals, 3 sodas and a little bowl of chili was OVER $120. For that price, the FOUR of us could have went to Texas Roadhouse and ALL got 20oz bone in rib-eye steaks with two sides. The burger was still good (even though it was over cooked) but I’ll never go back. They should tell people any time they ask for something extra, that they’re going to be charged for it.

Awesome first visit. Friend and attentive staff. Pretty large inside with a few different rooms for seating. Also looked like there was outdoor seating as well. Burger was very very tasty and cooked perfectly. Every other member of the party also loved their burgers. Fries were decent. Shoestring onion straws not bad either. Real winners here are the burgers though.

Love this place. Great food, great people. Erica is wonderful and we have been lucky enough to be in her section twice now. Its becoming rare these days to find a place where everyone seems happy to be there, especially the staff.

Very cool burger joint. My family and I go to the Polar Express train ride in Essex and always go to Haywire Burger afterwards. Their burgers are definitely first-rate (as is all the items on the menu) and staff are always friendly and helpful. Definitely recommend.

Erin was fantastic and the food was phenomenal! She was knowledgeable about the menu and had the perfect recommendation when I couldn’t make up my mind. The food came out pretty fast and the burgers were cooked PERFECTLY. Better than I remember! The variety on the menu is also impressive, there is something for everyone. 10/10 recommend I wouldn’t change a thing!
