BBQ Done Right, Flavor That Hits You Like a Haymaker!
We finally tried Haymaker BBQ today and wow… hands down the best baked beans I’ve ever had in my life! Smoky, sweet, and full of flavor, I could’ve made a meal out of just those.
The smoked bologna was melt-in-your-mouth good, the pulled pork was perfectly tender, and that rack of ribs… fall-off-the-bone delicious. Every bite tasted like it came straight from a backyard smoker made with love.
If you’re anywhere near here, you have to stop in. Trust me, it’s worth it!

I ordered a pulled pork BBQ sandwich plate with a drink and 20% tip and paid $23. The plate comes with two sides but if you want slaw on your sandwich it counts as one of your sides or adds an extra $4.50. My order came out very quickly. The pulled pork sandwich was a decent size, but was room temperature and dry, with not much flavor. They had three sauces available, though they were all very sweet. The fried okra looked amazing but sadly was room temp as well. The mac and cheese was very hot but bland. Overall not good value for money.

Was not happy and I know it’s the employees job to tell you that everything is good but when I ordered the brisket burn ends and they came out as tough as the worst beef jerky I’ve ever had somebody needs the quality control this because for this reason there’s only one thing saving my expensive dinner and that was the fried green tomatoes that was the highlight of the entire thing those were the best that I’ve had in a long time but the brisket I’ll never order again. My wife got the looks like ground up chicken I guess it’s supposed to be pulled chicken but it definitely looks like it went through a meat tenderizer or something she said it was pretty good but no brisket next time I think I’ll return it that was not good.

Good TN BBQ! Got the pulled chicken, burnt ends, baked beans, fries, mac and cheese and cat fish! All pretty good… but the fish was amazing! Prices are pretty good for the meals!

We were happy to stumble upon Haymaker BBQ. Always encouraging when there’s a pile of wood and the smoker is going. The new manager and pitmaster was very friendly and explained his commitment to freshness and quality. We enjoyed the pulled pork and brisket the best.

I stop in all the time for lunch. I also purchase lunch for the office often. I stopped in today to grab a pulled pork sandwich for lunch. I asked for a double meat pulled pork sandwich. The sandwich is $7.89. The double meat charge was $8.00.
I mentioned that it didn’t make sense. The double meat charge was more than the price of the sandwich itself.
The young lady went to get “Angie “.
Angie was pissed off from the beginning that I interrupted her cigarette break .
I kindly explained that it might be for a pulled pork platter, but that an additional meat charge for pulled pork barbecue sandwich should not cost more than a sandwich itself.
I was told that’s just how the prices are.
I purchased a regular pulled pork barbecue sandwich and while Angie was outside smoking, I just asked if she could talk to the owner and make sure they were made aware. She was continued to be irritated, literally walking off while speaking to her calmly outside.
My last time there. Zero care.

I was working in Kingsport, Tennessee, and traveling back home to Michigan. Made a pitstop to this BBQ joint. Ribs were meaty and amazing, as were the sides. EXCELLENT potato salad, baked beans, and Mac and cheese. I definitely didn’t leave hungry… if I ever make my way through this area, I will definitely stop back in. In the one picture, I pulled the meat apart to show how much meat was on the slab.

Food was ok. Meat was a little dry but the sauce were really good. Staff was friendly. Country music playing. It was raining when we stopped so it was a nice place to get dry/warm. Diner style restaurant.

Ate here for the first time today. Wow. Every single thing was great. I had the pulled pork sandwich and it was just awesome !! Those baked beans are to die for. And don’t forget to get the funnel cake fries….. Delicious!!!! 5* all around !!!
