Hayden’s is a total gem in Wilmington! The food is consistently delicious, the portions are generous, and everything tastes fresh and homemade. The staff is friendly, welcoming, and clearly cares about their customers, which makes the whole experience even better. We love eating at Hayden’s whether it is lunch or dinner. Husband ordered the pork chop with mashed potatoes and side salad. I got the NY Strip steak. Cooked to perfection. We love to order the Pub sticks during St Paddy’s time because they add corned beef inside. Went for dinner tonight after seeing a movie at the local Mar Theatre. Perfect Sunday supporting local establishments

Our waitress, Caitlin, was excellent! They were busy, but she kept checking in with us to make sure everything was good.

We decided to stop in for dinner after visiting the Farmer’s Market. The place was packed, but we were seated almost right away because two tables cleared out as we entered. The booth we had was comfortable and I liked the atmosphere of the wooden decor. Our server was friendly and did not rush us at all.
We decided to order an appetizer of potato skins to start. These were very good! There was a lot of potato still left in the skins and plenty of cheese and bacon bits on top of each one. They were served with ranch and sour cream.
For our entrees we got the BLT sandwich and the Chicken Caesar Wrap (with fries, although there were other options). The fries were great! Hot and crispy, not too salty. I just wished there were a few more of them. My husband said he enjoyed the BLT. It looked like an average BLT sandwich. There appeared to be plenty of bacon and the lettuce and tomato looked fresh and crisp. My Caesar wrap was okay. It was filled with a lot of grilled chicken which was great! Unfortunately, the dressing tasted more like a simple Italian dressing than a Caesar. There also wasn’t really a lot of the dressing. The wrap tasted good, it just wasn’t what I expected for a Caesar wrap.
The only other knock I had was the amount of time we had to wait for our entrees. I know the place was packed, but our sandwiches really shouldn’t have taken that much time to make.
They probably don’t have many people in the kitchen.

They had their phones turned off all night Sunday. I called for 45 straight minutes. They claim they do this when they are busy. When I walked in to order in person after driving over, the dining room was empty aside from two tables. When I asked the girl about it she laughed. Very frustrating and poor service.

Overall the place is nice, but the kitchen and bartender is weird. I ordered buffalo and Thai chili chicken wings and got all buffalo wings. When I asked the bartender to fix the problem she took the wings back to the kitchen, brought it back saying that half is chili and half is buffalo…. I mean when people order food they want to get the food they ordered…. It’s super weird situation. I didn’t want to ruin my night and argue over chicken wings but not nice at all. All wing taste and look exactly the same but for some reasons bartender decided to ignore this fact and agreed with the kitchen that is different kinds whatever .. nothing like this never happened before but I guess fir this place it is a normal practice…..

I usually love this spot for a quick drink or bite to eat. I ordered a medium rare steak, and it wound up being medium-medium well, which is a big deal for me. I was starving and didn’t feel like sending it back and waiting longer for my meal. We’ll be back to give it another shot, but this trip wasn’t the best experience we’ve had here.

Cute little out of the way place. We circled the block a couple of times before we found the back entrance and we’re glad we didn’t give up. The steak sandwich was delicious and was pretty good sized. The chicken wings were huge and delicious!! Highly recommend giving it a try!
