I ordered two orders of goat with rice , and this is what I have received and when I called the owner he was saying this was a special for today and charged me 37.98$ … I don’t see anything in those two plates that is worth the amount I paid for. Talking about halal learn how to respect your customers and don’t hang up the phone because you can’t handle a conversation. you can’t run a restaurant in such manner for too long just to get as much money as you can. I have been a consistent customer whenever I am in the area. But after this I don’t think I’d want to come back to this ever again.

This East African restaurant is located in a plaza with plenty of parking spaces. It is cozy where you can dine in or take out. This was my first time there and I loved it. Service was wonderful, the food is tasty, and the price is not bad. Will visit again soon.

Holy cow! Or should I say lamb. The food here is delicious. I had the chicken chapati stew, my husband had the roast lamb shank, we shared the Somali handpies (sambousa?). Everything was excellent and fresh. Spiced perfectly. The lamb was incredibly tender. Only a few tables in the dining area, nice little grocery & trinket area to browse while waiting for food. So happy to have found this hidden gem.

I hate to leave a bad review because I’ve never had east African food before. However, I do know that it shouldn’t be luke warm. The rice did not taste fresh and the beef…. well…. the texture was out of the ordinary. The sautee chicken sauqaar was heavily seasoned, in my opinion not in a good way. The seating is in the middle of a grocery store. A little awkward when people go in to shop. Customer service was good.

Food was good. Unfortunately they were out of most of what I could actually eat (vegetarian options) so all I really could have was the rice and lentils (had to change to lentils since they were out of falafel). The lentils were quite a bit thinner in consistency than I’m used to/expected but still good. It was quite a let down but I’m giving 4 stars based on the fact the food was decent and the people working were very friendly.

Dirty plates, small meat portions, minimal service. A real disappointment, because the meat that they serve is actually pretty good. We ordered a family meal and received a stack of personal plates that were filthy with sticky yellow oils on them. When we notified the owner, he came brought out another set of wet plates that were a little cleaner, but still dirty enough that we had to wipe them down with napkins extensively before eating. I am filing a complaint with the health department regarding this lack of basic sanitation. The family meal costs $60 but is mostly just mildly seasoned rice with excessive amounts of oil (the oil drips when you pick up the rice with a fork) with small portions of meat. If you still want to dine here, the only thing worth purchasing is probably the lamb shank, because at least that comes with a decent amount of meat. Also oddly enough, they have an excellent spicy green sauce. I will not be returning here, mostly due to the lack of sanitation but also largely because of the lack of service and excessive pricing.

Lamb shank is to die for. Very tender and well prepared. The side of green sauce made me say Yummy! (No idea what it was called but could taste the lemon in it)

First of all I would say this is the best somali / east African spot I’ve had in this area. Flavors and spices are amazing and well balanced. Where it looses stars is at operation. The tables have no napkins and the restroom were so run down. The food temperature was not hot and and rice had too much oil. The goat was dry and not tender, needs to be cooked 45 more mins. I’m suspecting Sela rice and not long grain basmati. They were also out of bananas. If you want to have a taste of good somali food then this is the best place but it definitely needs improvements on the business part of things
