This place is awesome! They have a wide selection of Hawaiian plates lunches. The mini is plenty for 1 to 2 meals and the regular size is enough for 3. We tried garlic shrimp, Hawaiian BBQ mix and chicken cutlet and gravy. All was good, but the BBQ was a standout. Mac salad was great and lover option for broccoli. Prices are so reasonable for what you get. Staff was also so nice and accommodating. Highly recommend. Clean and tidy.

Delicious food, great price. Person that served us gave great service.
The ceiling decoration is very pretty. The restaurant is cozier than it looks from the outside. I appreciate that the drinks aren’t too expensive. I’m told it’s similar prices to Hawaii.
Definitely a good local spot. Food came out quick both times I visited.

I’ve been here several times with no complaints. My Hawaiian friend highly recommended the food here. Today I enjoyed the mochiko chicken as it is was moist chicken and a crispy light coating. Other local places overdo the batter and oil. One hour later at home it was still crunchy. Large bowl of Saimin soup with wonton was flavorful and not salty. Also had noodles with sweet tender pieces of kalbi beef. I’m not a big fan of fried noodles but it was good.

Ordered the oxtail and musubi, been here a few times. The food is enough to satisfy my hawaiian food craving. Good size portion will fill you up. The meat in the oxtail varies in size sometimes you get a bunch of big pieces sometimes a lot of small pieces. It comes with noodles or rice and a side of soy and ginger sauce. The broth is really good highly recommend it specially when it’s cold out.

It’s not just food – it’s people! After having an amazing dinner at this place, I dropped our passports on the seat next to me. That evening both my husband and I received a message on Facebook messenger from owners telling us that they have my passport and will meet us wherever and whenever it’s convenient for us!!!
Owner’s son met us at 6:30 am to return our passports! I am beyond grateful for these wonderful people who saved us unimaginable trouble at the border! Thank you

We initially stopped by Hawaiian Sun because we were making our way through a Hawaiian-themed road trip. I would probably say this hole-in-the-wall bbq shop has a heavily Chinese influence (which shouldn’t be surprising as Hawaii cuisine borrows from many asian cuisines).

We got the bbq combo with huli huli chicken and kalbi for $16.99. I was a bit confused by the chicken as it seemed to have been cut into thin strips which didn’t really bear any physical resemblance to chicken pieces. The flavours were ok but the slices of chicken would have been better as actual uncut chicken pieces.

2025 this is next door to Enas wigs so stopped in. Ordered the mini huli huli chicken. There were lots of takeout orders and customers while I was waiting for the food

no wonder
it’s delicious and reasonable.
It was so wonderful to have such tender chicken today I wanted the Hawaiian teriyaki version cuz I wanted to give it a try

and I really prefer this over the Japanese version which is a lot heavier soy-based this was much lighter and full of flavor. Really good dish the mini version comes with macaroni salad and one scoop of rice. Just perfect to eat all in one sitting . No leftovers. You can get other main dishes as side dishes for very reasonable price. Still wish they had take out menus.

2023 Our taste buds were still craving delicious food from sweet and short, so we went in search of more, and ended up from Hawaiian Sun. Got the combo meat platter and Sun special fried rice for tomorrow and egg rolls for tonight.

Wish they had take out menus
