I was actually trying to go to Ono Hawaiian Barbecue, but my navigation kept recommending this restaurant because of its high reviews. It redirected me here twice, so I thought, “Fine, let’s just try it.” And I’m so glad I did — I ended up discovering an amazing place!

The owner may seem a bit reserved at first, but he’s actually very kind. The macaroni salad was delicious, the rice was perfectly cooked, and the chicken katsu was honestly the best I’ve ever had in my life — perfectly crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside.

And all of this for just $12.99!
Places like this truly deserve more recognition. I really hope more people come and support this hardworking Korean owner.

These are so good. sooooo gooood.

One of my go to spots when I’m in Pasadena. The serving sizes are good and the prices are some the best in the area. Everything on the menu is basically under $15 and the spam and chicken musubi are about $3 and big. It’s a smaller place, so just a couple tables and a tv but the owners who I believe are husband and wife are super chill and welcoming. Will definitely continue coming here for sure.

First time here. I don’t get the whole “Hawaiian bbq,” thing. It’s basically any spot that sells beef/pork,chicken with some sauce. Cold macaroni no’s not Hawaiian, Spam mixed in with other items is not uniquely Hawaiian. Menu says combo includes “any,” two meats…so I order bbq chicken with Spam…owner says with a cold, smug voice, “No Spam.” I said you said “any two meats, the menu says any two meats…” Still no Spam LOL! What a joke. The food was no better than any charred chicken spot with teriyaki sauce. Mac salad was bland. NO roll. The bbq with onions also bland. To top it off, I paid almost $16 for what is $10.99-12.00 elsewhere. Place was dirty. Hard pass on this spot.

This place is fire. I have went here once a month for an entire year. One of my favorite parts is the catering platters. Can get a lot of delicious food to feed multiple families for a great price.

I was close by and this was walking distance. Definitely a solid Hawaiian bbq spot.

I ordered there bbq combo with short ribs, bbq chicken and bbq beef with macaroni salad and rice. The short ribs was excellent, seasoned just right, the bbq beef and chicken were also excellent and the macaroni salad was a great addition for the whole entree. The spam musubi and bbq chicken musubi were solid and I got it on easy rice.

I’d definitely come back and try their other items.

Oh man there are so many great spots but this is seriously the best Hawaiian BBQ!! I’ve been coming here for years I hate going anywhere else. Their Masubi is fantastic. If you want Ahi burger they have it and it’s awesome. They also have great specialty rolls which is a major plus cuz I can get some sushi and Hawaiian at the same time. The owners are so humble and just always so kind to serve you and always smile and are very Courteous. I’ve never been disappointed. Big 3 ’s out of 3 ’s!!

I LOVE coming here whenever I’m in the area! I got the spicy beef and some spam musubi along with a Thai tea. The spam musubi is to die for, I finished one so quick I was confused where it went

The spicy beef was so savory and tasted like home, and the Thai tea tastes legit. They have green tea too which l’ve had before and is perfect! Sweet but not too sweet.

The owners were super sweet and the ambience is so cute, very Hawaiian themed. I have no complaints at all! ️❤️

The taste of their food is spot on. A real delicious taste, but their prices have gone up tremendously over the years. 2 pieces of spam masubi used to be $3.50. Now it’s $5+. Mini portions of food entrees used to be $7, now they’re basically $9. Used to come here a lot, but not anymore for that price.

Update as of October 2020:

Food is still spot on but now they even jip you on the portions as well. My almost $9 mini spicy pork (photo) came with meat that could fill up about 2 tortillas. I guess you should always go for the regular size but I’m afraid even that went up in price to maybe almost $12. The added meat doesn’t look like a lot either for that much. I’m way better off driving to the Hawaiian place across the street from East LA Community College on Atlantic and getting a full on single meal that will last me lunch and dinner for $7. The place is called Ohana Hawaiian Island BBQ. It’s so good and they give you so much food and the environment is a nicer.
