One of my favorite sushi spots! Super affordable, you can absolutely keep it below $15 per person depending on what you order. They have less expensive rolls that are more simple and are around $6, i usually get some of the fancier ones which range from $10-$15. My favorite is the spicy ahi tempura roll, though the Diamond Head tempura roll (first picture) is also SO good. The lava tube roll (second picture) is great as well, the green onions add a really bright flavor to it. Great variety of sushi rolls and poke bowls to choose from, I’ve really enjoyed everything I’ve tried so far. Service is always pretty quick and the staff are friendly and polite.
Parking is quite limited, though you might be able to find street parking in the area. There’s 3 indoor seats and two or three tables outside the shop, so finding seating is really just dependent on how many other people arrive at the same time as you. The shop is a 10 minute or so walk from the beach, so you could also walk down there for a scenic meal.
Highly recommend this place!

Today I got to try the Ahi Set Bento for $10.75 and it was very fresh and great. Also, the server was very friendly and helpful.

I’ve been here 3 times in the past 3 weeks… Some of the best and freshest poke I’ve had. Highly recommend the Ahi Avocado Poke Bowl! A nice walk from downtown Waikiki in a much more mellow atmosphere.

This cozy sushi spot offers an authentic taste of Japanese cuisine. The staff is friendly, the service is quick, and the food is impressively fresh. We especially loved the spicy ahi bowls — absolutely delicious! Seating is limited, but the warm atmosphere makes up for it. A definite must-visit for sushi lovers

Such delicious sushi!! You can seriously get so many rolls for such a low price. Their eel, shrimp, and salmon rolls were all so good. The only thing they lack is a nice interior. The store is pretty small, and there’s not really seating.

There’s so much fabulous sushi in the world in general, but especially in Hawaii, of course there’s also a lot of bad-mediocre sushi in the world, and a lot of sushi that’s forgettable or just okay but this place! Is not of that kind. Now do I remember what I ordered? Not exactly. Also when we went they were out of salmon, so there was an improv situation on top of things but whatever it was, all of it was superb. I need more positive descriptors. I keep going to all these great places and it’s making my reviews repetitive. But this was another winner. They were very friendly inside, we had nice conversation and they didn’t bite our heads off for coming in so soon to closing time (I’ve worked in many a restaurant. I know the stinging pain of a last minute customer). The lack of salmon was a blow but whatever little tuna number they cooked up for me here hit the spot, I didn’t feel like anything was missing. I love take out. It was a great night. We had a nice happy time walking there and walking home and eating at the table and talked mostly about how good it all was. Life is made by simple pleasures people and there’s few pleasures finer than some damn good sushi

Very fresh sushi and good prices. It’s a busy urban street so not a great date night spot, but still a few outdoor tables. I highly recommend!

Exceptional Sushi, highly recommend. I drive by multiple sushi eateries to eat here. Fresh ingredients, the tempura shrimp rolls the best I’ve enjoyed anywhere. Limited seating inside and outside. So you may want to order ahead and Take Out. When I want sushi, Hawaii Sushi is first choice.

I recently dined at Hawaii Sushi, a restaurant specializing in sushi. The first thing that I noticed about the place was its nice atmosphere which was very welcoming and cozy. However, the overall experience was quite average and didn’t live up to my expectations.
The first let down was the small portion sizes that were offered. They were not worth the price charged and left me wanting more. Although the food was decent, it wasn’t exceptional and could have been better. Nevertheless, it was a better option compared to gas station sushi or convenience store sushi.
I opted for a takeout which was a smooth process and the staff was friendly enough to assist me with my order. The wait time was also reasonable considering I didn’t place an online order beforehand. However, I wouldn’t say that Hawaii Sushi was the best value for money.
In conclusion, Hawaii Sushi may not be the ideal place to enjoy sushi if you’re looking for larger portions or higher quality sushi for the price. Although the atmosphere was pleasant, it was not enough to completely redeem my experience.
