Food is awesome but the chocolate chip banana bread is earth shatteringly amazing. Ignore my smushed banana bread, I had to buy an extra for the ride home. We have tried several of the famous Maui banana bread shops, this is better than all of them. Amazing!!

Closest thing you will find to having Hawaiian food cooked by a Hawaiian family. It literally is! Authentic, onolicious and they have weekly specials. Squid luau dish served on Fridays! Got the laulau and kalua pork mixed plate with poi, lomi-lomi and haupia. One serving was enough for me and my partner to enjoy! Great value and great prices for great food!

Great local food. We ordered laulau and kawa.
Love the coconut thing (don’t know its name but it’s delicious).

The food was super tasty and traditional Hawaiian (as far as I can judge). I was super excited about trying casual and traditional Hawaiian food. The lau pork was super tender and tasty. The haupia was delicious.
Plenty of locals stopped by, which is always a great sign.
Their banana bread is super moist, sweet and flavorful, also cheaper than most other places.
It is inside a food court, so there is chairs and tables around to seat and eat.

Excellent and tasty authentic Hawaiian local food. We ordered the Hawaiian ahi poke salad bowl with oriental wasabi dressing. It was refreshing and crisp. The squid luau and pork laulau mixed plate was flavorful. The squid luau with taro leaves was creamy and if you like it in the sweet side, it’d perfect. The pork laulau was moist and the taro leaves lent a fresh taro flavor to the pork. We had the option to choose sweet potato poi instead of the taro. I liked that more as it was less dense and fermented with a sweeter taste. Last but not least, the apple banana bread was airy but not overly sweet. One of the best banana breads for $7.

This is my favorite place for Hawaiian food hands down. Fresh is in the name and that’s what you get. The best laulau, pretty much everything I have tried on the menu is da bomb. But don’t get me started on the chicken long rice! Nowhere else comes close! I dream about it. If you know what’s up then you know Hawaii Fresh Specialties is the spot for plate lunch in Kailua Kona.

Incredible food and amazing prices. They were super nice even though we got there right before closing. Great last dinner in Kona.

The best food I had in the Big Island so far. It’s authentic Hawaiian local food. We had the spicy ahi plate, ahi katsu plate and the pork laulau. They were all delicious. The poi desert was a highlight too. Highly recommend giving it a go if you want to try something Hawaiian!
