I’m sorry that I ordered at 7:22. That was to late. I have never had a problem here . My go to several times a year. Tonight the entrees we 1/2sized with the rice which is served on th he side with large entrees was the other 1/2+. I even 2x checked before I hung up. Large entrees. I grabbed the food, tipped 15% and saw the sides were missing. The just wanted to go home and I’m sorry about that. The pineapple chicken was not good and sauce was sparse and wrong. I have very picky kids, bummer. I’m not sorry I tipped , just not right and people aren’t eating …

The Hawaiian food menu is pretty small but they have typical Asian-American food. The food is good and they have great service.

This was really more Asian than Hawaiian Fusion, bit still very good.
Their orange chicken was fantastic, and had a very crunchy shell.
Their fish was great also.
If you take a group here, just order dishes for the table and pick some off all the plates. There is no “best meal” here: it’s all equally dealicious.

My husband and I came in last night (2/24/21) to get our usual Singapore Noodle! It was our ABSOLUTE FAVORITE. We usually get it 2-4 times a month. However we have both had surgeries and didn’t know there was a change in ownership. I asked if the recipes were the same, the owner said yes. The owner and front register gal were so very friendly. Very easy to talk to, very personable! We ordered Singapore Noodles, pot stickers and seafood combo with fried rice.
They are such nice people, it is a shame to write anything negative. The Singapore noodles were good but not great. Something was missing in flavor and it needed a pinch more curry. I asked for extra shrimp, was not impressed with the extra, on the skimpy side.
The pot stickers, were PERFECT, but was missing the dipping sauce normally served with them. Bummer.
Lastly the seafood combo, which includes butterfly fried shrimp, fried fish, the bbq short ribs, and I ordered fried rice and Mac salad. This dish needs a lot of help. The shrimp was perfect. The fish batter was extremely pasty, couldn’t eat it. The short ribs had a weird texture and super fatty which made it unappetizing. The Mac salad left us wondering why it is even on the menu…yuck. And the fried rice was tasteless, not fried and was just colored rice.
Here is the thing. We are not ones to write a place off because of one not so good experience. I believe in a second shot. Especially to give the chef time to get his menu working. So we will give it some time and will give them another try, especially as nice as they were. But I definitely loved the original menu, the menu now is NOT the same.

Well the food is edible, not horrible, but it’s definitely not the same as before. I discovered this place when I lived near it and kept coming back after moving farther away. It was one of my favorite places to get food. The BBQ chicken is not bad but it’s just not like I am used to. The macaroni salad however is very disappointing. It used to be so very good, now it’s basically just macaroni with mayonnaise. No sort of veggies or flavor at all in it. And very small serving of it compared to before. Maybe I will give the new owners time to improve before coming back.

I love this place. The woman who owns it works there with her sons and they are always nice to the customers.
The food is prepared when you order it, not before and then placed on hot trays like the one on Sunset.
I have eaten here since i moved up here in 2004, and have tried the Sunset one 3 times and each time i was not happy.
I am always happy with my meal at the Northwest location.
Highly recommend it.

I live just up the street and this would be my go to for lunch at least twice a week. Unfortunately with the new ownership that has changed. The General Tsaos chicken I normally get was now pink and had a rubbery texture, nothing like what it was before; bright red and just the right amount of crispness. Portions and prices changed for the worse, however the person who took my order and rung me up was friendly. It will be a while before I give them another chance, hopefully they can figure out their issues by then.

Not impressed since new management. Food was slow, general Tao chicken was not right like it was from the sweet and sour chicken, no veggies, flavorless thin red sauce with no spice, sesame chicken did not taste like it should and mostly like soy sauce. Chow meain and rice was very bland but fresh at least. Only thing on the plate they got right was the egg rolls. This used to be our family spot for years we have never ever had anything but the best food before this meal, incredibly disappointing.

I have never done a food review, however, the Hawaiian BBQ on Northwest just now became one of my least favorite places to eat. Out of both locations we always chose to eat at the NW location for two reasons: 1. The owner and her sons were such polite people and 2. They made their food fresh and it was always well worth the money.
Tonight we had a craving for our usual, an entree of honey sesame chicken and an entree of pork fried rice, but we had many mouths to feed, so we ordered $110 worth. When we got the food home to dish up, the containers were nearly empty, with what was suppose to be honey sesame chicken, but tasted like teriyaki chicken and the pork fried rice was dry with chunks of plain white rice not properly mixed. Also, I say the meat that was mixed in the rice is chicken but apparently it’s chunks of regular pan cooked pork chop.
I called, which again, I normally wouldn’t do, especially if it was worth our money and it wasn’t bad, however, if this particular place and location happens to be one of your favorite places too, please note, they’re under new owners, the other ones retired, and they’re still charging the same prices for dry rice and poorly cooked meat entrees that is incredibly slim, in terms of portion size, in comparison to what we normally get there.
Overall, I hate to say it, but we will not be returning to Hawaiian BBQ (either locations) now that we know their pricing is not matching their quality of food made and because both entrees tasted NOTHING like what we actually ordered or expected.
