Havana Soul Paradise – A Delicious, No-Frills Cuban Gem
After a long, busy day, we were just looking for a quick bite—nothing fancy, just good food. After reading reviews, we decided to try Havana Paradise, and we’re so glad we did.
The restaurant is located in a strip mall directly across from Englewood Window and Door.
It has a large parking lot in front. The plaza is currently being updated with new landscaping and a watering system, so there’s a bit of work going on, but nothing that would deter you from eating here. Once finished, it looks like it will be very nice.

Food
I ordered the Cuban Platter ($22.99):
Slow-roasted, marinated pork in house-made mojo sauce, with congri (rice and beans), sweet plantains, and yuca.

The pork was sliced thick, incredibly juicy, and tender—I received three generous slices. The mojo marinade was absolutely delicious, perfectly seasoned without being overly salty. The rice and beans were flavorful and not overcooked, the plantains were sweet and nicely roasted, and the yuca complemented everything beautifully.

Portion size:
Extremely generous. I usually eat most of my meal, but I could barely finish half. I had enough leftovers for lunch the next day—and then some!

Food
My husband ordered the Half Roast Chicken ($17.99):
Juicy, marinated half chicken with house-made mojo sauce, served with tostones, congri, and yuca. He also had a Mondelo beer.

This was the largest half chicken we’ve ever seen! The meat was juicy and tender, and the skin was golden brown and wonderfully crispy—something that’s hard to achieve. The sides were excellent, and he absolutely loved the mojo sauce. We should have asked if they sell it by the bottle!

Portion size:
Huge. Even my husband, who is a big eater, had leftovers for lunch the next day.

The Restaurant
This isn’t fine dining—and that’s not what we were looking for. It’s clean, well-organized, with new tables and chairs, and a comfortable, casual atmosphere perfect for a relaxed meal.

Service
The service was excellent. Our waitress was warm, engaging, attentive, and checked on us several times to make sure everything was perfect. She was pleasant and very informative.

Owner/Chef
The owner/chef was friendly and clearly passionate about his food. He’s obviously Cuban and truly knows his way around the kitchen—his talent shines through every dish.
On our way out, we picked up a pastry to take home for breakfast the next morning. It was flaky, fresh, and filled with cheese and fruit—a wonderful treat.

Overall
Our experience at Havana Paradise was fantastic. It’s refreshing to see a small, owner-run restaurant in Englewood that genuinely cares about its customers and takes pride in sharing Cuban culture through food. We’ll definitely be back—especially for takeout on the way home from the beach.
Wishing Havana Paradise all the success in their new venture. They’re doing something special.

Run don’t walk to this restaurant. If you want true Cuban food this is the place to go. Not a large restaurant but that should not deter you. The food is EXCELLENT. Portions are large and the prices are reasonable. We devoured the Loaded French Fries (fries with a smooth cheese sauce and bacon). For our meal we ordered Ropa Vieja and the Cuban Sandwich. All was delicious and home made. Nothing canned about this place. We will definitely be going back to try other things. Don’t change a thing. I think I could have bathed in the rice and beans they were that tasty!

Excellent cuban food ! Finally some cuban food in town . We had the oxtail ( one of the best I’ve had) on the perfect point of spiciness. The croquettes were very good. We also had the steak sandwich and it’s huge and delicious, every serving is enough for 2 days. Highly recommend!

Clean Cuban venue with fresh authentic food. Prices are great and portion sizes are in your favor. Open kitchen so you can watch the entire process. This is a place you should plan a dessert visit. Fresh bakery and real Cuban coffees. Stop by and try it.

Delicious Cuban food with large portions and great flavor! They even found a way to make cheese fries even better! I had the Steak Palomilla Sandwich and it was delicious and was on the best Cuban bread I have had. My wife had the Cuban platter and it was a nice sampling of favorites. Can’t wait to go back!

We had dinner yesterday at this restaurant. From the moment we walked in we fell like we were so welcomed and they were all so happy we were there. Tables are spaced enough for comfort, the whole restaurant was very clean. The open kitchen gives a sense of being at someone’s home when the delicious smells fill the dining area. Menu is outstanding and drink selection too. Fun Cuban inspired sodas, wine and beer available too.
We ordered the Cuban sandwich which has truly been the best we have had ( we moved here after living in Miami for over 35 years ) and we know Cuban food well. We also ordered the palomilla which the quality of the steak was excellent, the seasoning was so good. The black beans beyond delicious.
Our experience was really great and we heard other people who were there dining or picking up about how good everything was.
We will return and keep trying the different items on the menu.
Welcome to our town and thanks for the quality and dedication.

This is a hidden treasure. We were at the thrift store next door when my belly growled. My daughter, 14, had never eaten a sandwich before. Yes she’s one of those kids where things can’t touch and no sauces, dressing, even pudding. She said can I try a sandwich? What??!! She had the pan con lechon, roasted pork, made fresh every day along with the best Cuban bread I’ve ever had. She LOVED it! I had the Cuban sandwich, absolutely delicious. They were so nice. It was clean and smelled amazing. Can’t wait to go back.

Absolutely! Here it is all together: Truly unexpected paradise at this hidden gem. My wife, son, and I were in the mood for Cuban food, and we couldn’t have been happier. Don’t judge this hidden gem by approaching expectations, as it’s a tiny spot in a shopping plaza that’s still being renovated. This little restaurant is operated by the on-site owner-chef, who was an absolute delight. We ordered the Cuban sandwich, churrasco steak, and plantains. My wife was adamant it was the best sangria she’s ever had. We enjoyed it so much, we ordered a second churrasco steak to go! Oh and also fantastic Cuban coffee! We will return!
