It has been a few years since I have eaten here and the service and food has really gone down hill.

The restaurant was less than half full and we were seated right away. We ordered the goat cheese appetizer and it took 30 minutes to come out and were told it was taking so long because other food was being cooked.

We then waited another 30 minutes for our dinner. I ordered ropa vieja, medium rare, and it came out medium well and was luke warm at best. I let them know it was over cooked and they brought a new one out almost instantly, still luke warm, but medium rare.

My wife ordered chicken and shrimp coconut curry which is always good, but this came out not fully cooked and crunchy.

We had bread pudding for dessert and that took another 30 minutes to come out and the restaurant was still anything but full. At this point we had them box the dessert because it was taking so long.

Our drinks (water) were never refilled without asking and there seemed to be a general lack of caring. This was also during restaurant week, so I can’t imagine what the service and food would be like any other time.

We will not be eating here again.

Havana’s is a great spot whether you’re going for happy hour, drinks and appetizers, or a full dinner. It’s been around forever and is definitely a classic on Great Neck Road.

The food is always solid, the drinks are good, and the vibe is relaxed and welcoming. My favorite thing to get is the chicken quesadilla it’s so good and I order it every time.

Reliable, tasty, and a longtime local favorite. Definitely recommend.

POSITIVE: our water glass was always full
NEGATIVE: where do I start? We come from Miami where you have authentic Cuban food and this restaurant is an insult to the Cuban culture food cuisine, my wife ordered a Cuban Sandwich and as you can see from one of the photos it resembles more a Burrito than a Sandwich, the food was NOT fresh and another thing that bothered us was the hostess went in the restroom while my wife was there with my daughters, she could of waited outside the door since the restroom was real small, why bother to get reservations for this place? I rather eat fast food place next time, DONT waste your money or time here.

The Osso Buco is simply the best… I come 3 to 4 times a year and am never disappointed. The service is amazing; Becca is attentive and so fun. Love this place; date night, ladies night, any night… the best time. Great martinis too… get the cucumber one

Phenomenal food and beautifully presented. Well worth the price. The drinks were strong, delicious, and appealing to the eye. The service was amazing and and the ambiance was relaxing and romantic. Drove all the way from Suffolk to eat here and most definitely will be back. Oh and the desserts were to die for, we had peach cobbler and bread pudding. I forgot to take pictures of those.

The food is really good but the service leaves a lot to be desired. Well, the butter for the bread was horrible. It was some kind of push barbeque that simply missed the mark. Our party of 6 waited approximately 15 just to order our drinks. The drinks were pretty good also. Then we waited another 20 – 30 minutes just to get our drinks. We ordered our food and then proceeded to wait 30 – 40 minutes for our food. When time came to pay our bill we had to wait another 30 minutes just to pay.

This is the worst restaurant. My group got there when it opened at 5pm. We didn’t get our meal until 6:30pm. Our waitress, Chelsee had a bad attitude and wasn’t friendly or helpful. She never asked how the food was or if we needed anything. She took our order at 5pm and we never saw her until 6:30pm. The food was horrible. I had the baked pork burrito. It was burnt and had no flavor. It came with beans and rice that tasted disgusting. The burrito came with a sauce that tasted like dirt. It was so loud in the restaurant and you couldn’t have a conversation without yelling at each other. Don’t waste your time here.

Ate here last week as a first time customer. Ordered fish tacos with rice and beans. Took a long time to receive it, and it was Not hot at all when I finally got it. Waitress was nice, but I have to question whether a good wait staff would even bring lukewarm food to a patron. Makes me think my plate had been sitting back there for quite some time without getting picked up and brought to my table. So on that note, I am very dissatisfied with the service and food. Disappointed. The wine was good.

Went here for the first time for dinner yesterday evening and it was pretty disappointing. Ordered a Cubano and I couldn’t taste anything over the excessive whole grain mustard. I love a Cubano and didn’t think you could really screw it up but they found a way. I even tried scraping off the mustard but it was still overpowering. I ordered a mojito and somehow they made it taste like cough syrup. On the bright side our waitress was very sweet and accommodating. She recommended their gin cocktail which was better. The lighting was extremely dim. I know it’s nice to set a mood but it felt like they were trying to hide the condition of the restaurant. Everything felt sticky. In fact, even though the table wasn’t wet, we had to strong arm the menu off the table top because it stuck to it pretty bad. The tostanos we ordered were decent but the potato cakes were not great. The beans and rice flavorless. My husband said his fish tacos were subpar. Had high hopes for this place but unfortunately I don’t think we’ll return.
