Havana 151 is a Cuban supper club located on the second floor of The Loft at Lena’s in Alexandria, Virginia. It delivers speakeasy vibes with dim lighting, Latin music you can dance to, vibrant art, and great food/drinks. I dined during “Wine Down Wednesday” where you can get 1/2 off a full bottle of wine that you can take home to finish. Mario was my bartender and he was very attentive and made great recommendations as a first time guest. Though I didn’t order the wine, I fully enjoyed my drink and food selections. The mango salsa, birra tacos (with consommé), and coconut rum cake were the highlights for me. Here’s a complete list of what I ordered:

Food was absolutely delicious and spiced just right (i’m not a big fan of spicy food, but it was just enough without being too much), and the atmosphere was very pleasant. It wasn’t too loud or too quiet, and the servers were attentive without being overbearing in any way. The lighting was a soft, ambient color, and really added to the atmosphere in a pleasant way. The decor was really cool too, and I’ve loved the gargoyle at the entrance. The bathrooms were clean as well, which to me is a big deal. I could tell that it was a professionally maintained and well run restaurant, and that the servers at least appeared to enjoy working there compared to some other restaurants I’ve been to. I also really enjoyed the bilingual capabilities of the first of the two servers we got. I don’t speak Spanish very well anymore, though I wish I still did. His ability to go back-and-forth between English and Spanish, so fluently was impressive. Both of these servers that we had were great and very professional people, and I really enjoyed speaking with them, even if it was briefly. I would highly recommend this place to anyone and everyone.

The food, service and atmosphere were great during our visit on Valentine’s day. Parking situation was as expected but you can find some street side parking if you drive a bit further. Dishes that I would recommend are Lenas Crab Dip to start out your dining experience then for main course you can’t go wrong with the juicy Mojo Roasted Chicken.

This place is definitely a vibe. A group of friends and I came here for Restaurant Week. I had the salad, seafood paella, and a rum cake that was different from what I’ve had before. The rum cake had a lot of shaved coconut which i am not a fan of, but the cake part was good. The seafood paella had muscles, octopus, shrimp, sausage, and calamari. The salad was also good and also pretty big piece of lettuce. Bring a date, go for happy hour, but whatever you do dress for the vibe because you are definitely going to want to take pics.

TERRIBLE!!!. Let me start saying the restaurant was advertised as a Cuban restaurant on google ,but when we arrived, the menu was entirely Italian. Even then, the pasta was extremely thick and poorly prepared. They claimed it was house-made, but it tasted very basic and overly heavy.
I had a really disappointing experience at this place. Our waiter, David, seemed totally lost—he had no idea what to recommend or even describe, and it felt like he didn’t know the menu at all. We order a simple proseco and a mango martini and it took more than 30 min to bringing it and he never come back to offered another round; the glasses were just sitting there empty. On top of that, the food was just not good. We ordered our steaks well-done, and none of them came out that way, including the kids’ meals.
What really made the experience unacceptable was the wait time: it took two and a half hours to receive just two main dishes and one appetizer. Overall, it was a frustrating and very poor dining experience. DO NOT EXPEND YOUR MONEY OR TIME AT THIS RESTAURANT!!!!

I was invited to a birthday party at Havana 151. The vibes were vybing. The decor so cute and the atmosphere had me feeling I was in Cuba. There was a trio there playing live, setting the mood. We just had to get up and dance while we waited for our food. I guess people didn’t realize the open walk space was wide enough for dancing and for people to walk by. Other guests joined us in dancing. Talk about fun times! It’s a good thing we danced before eating because I was trying everybody’s food. Yes, it was temporarily big-back season. I tried the Birria tacos, Chicken Rustica, Lasagna, Grilled Chicken Alfredo, and Cesar Salad. We all thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The Sangria was also spot-on. Fun times were had. Great dining spot in Alexandria!

The food was fantastic, the ambiance pleasant, somewhat dark and full of chill vibes as you’d expect from a Cuban restaurant. The classic mojito was excellent and I love the bar seating. Plenty of tables, some more secluded than others but, you’ll definitely find something on the menu that you’ll like. Thursday night is live music and salsa dancing. Will be back
