Stopped by Hausmash Burgers in Wellington for lunch and overall it was a really solid experience.
The restaurant itself is very clean, modern, and contemporary, with a great atmosphere. Service was good—everyone was friendly and welcoming, and the place had a nice, relaxed vibe for a Sunday lunch.
I ordered the Groovy Double and the burger was very good. Loved the lacy, crispy edges on the patty, and the size felt just right
That said, there was one hiccup. The menu lists the Groovy Double at $8.99, which I assumed meant two patties. When ordering, I was asked, “You want the double?” and I said yes—only to later see an additional $4 charge to make it a double. That felt a bit misleading, since the menu already says “Groovy Double $8.99.” If the base burger is actually single-patty, I’d recommend updating the menu wording so expectations are clear.
Hopefully this was just a misunderstanding, because the food itself was great—just with a little more menu clarity next time.

Was excited to try Hausmash and my son and I gave it a try. We had the bacon burger. I had a single and he had a double. We shared the bacon cheddar fries and a vanilla shake. I had read somewhere that the single was filling so I didn’t get a double but now wish I did. They will also triple the burger too!!! Excellent burger and made to order. We absolutely loved the fries. Show stealer for sure. Do not miss out on the shakes either!! Super creamy and topped with whipped cream. Service was pleasant at the counter and were shown where condiments etc were. Interior was very clean and fun! Loved the visit and will absolutely be back.

Really enjoyed my burger today. If there was a negative, I would say it was a bit too much cheese. I think I’ll let them know one slice only for my next double. I ordered the Groovy Double cheese and it was packed with flavor. This place was definitely way better than Skinny Louie. Which serve a very bland burger. Also Enjoyed the French fries. Plenty of seating and very clean location. Waiting time wasn’t bad. They had our food within 10-12 mins. Can’t wait to head back to try some more items.

Hands-down the best place for a burger in Wellington! I recommend getting 2-3 patties. Loved the bacon burger and the cheesy double. Fries were good, but needed salt. I also love that they do not serve on plastic, but I wish they would recycle. Very clean and the staff was friendly. I will be back!

First time being here , with my girl , and we tried 3 different burgers and all of the fries they have, the truffle the cheddar and the classic one and , all of them were amazing, very flavorfull , great sauce!!! And we also a cookies n cream milkshake which was insaaaaaaneeeee!!!!
Overall unbelievable food, 10/10 burgers which the owner actually came up to us and told us that they use very healthy beef tallow that makes burger feel less heavy, also the atmosphere , the ambiance , and the decor is very nice and the place is very clean!!
