This restaurant is absolutely beautiful, and I loved the long wall hanging—it really stands out. The staff were so welcoming and kind, which made my visit even better. I’m especially grateful they were open on Christmas Day when most places were closed—it’s such a thoughtful gesture. The food was delicious, especially the salmon! It would be even better if they offered non-alcoholic wine, but overall, it was a fantastic experience. Highly recommend!

For a celebration, we chose Hauptstadtrestaurant Gendarmerie, and from the moment we called for a reservation until the time we left, our experience was exceptional. We were served by Blerim, an extremely professional and pleasant staff member who truly understands customer satisfaction. He managed each table with care while efficiently taking our orders. We opted for the salmon steak, mashed potatoes, and grilled veggies. As we waited for our food, we enjoyed a glass of white beer and tonic water to start the evening off right.
The entire team that night was courteous, polite, and attentive. The food was delectable, with rich flavors and perfectly balanced seasoning. The ambience in the restaurant added to the overall charm, making it an incredible dining experience. Overall, a ten-star evening, and we would absolutely return!

Very similar to the Bay Area finest Cioppino or the traditional Ciuppin from Genoa, with every spoonful showcasing the depth of its high-quality ingredients. And let’s not forget the Schnitzel—one of the best in Berlin! Crispy, golden perfection on the outside, irresistibly tender and juicy on the inside, served with delicious sides that complete the experience. The ambiance strikes the perfect balance between elegance and warmth, while the service is impeccable—attentive, professional, and genuinely welcoming. Be sure to take a moment to admire the imposing “Gendarm”, a breathtaking wooden relief by Jean-Yves Klein, which adds a unique artistic touch to the setting. A must-visit for anyone who appreciates exquisite cuisine in a stylish atmosphere. Already looking forward to my next visit!

Overrrated restaurant with a very rude and mannerless waiter who pulls yhe plates right away from you as soon as you are finished without waiting the other person as if you eat in a neighborhood “dönerecke” and also not warning about their shady machine while you think you tip the “endsumme” but they won’t even warn while you tip more than double of your bill. Hoping you’re drunk and won’t beaware of it??????? I found the food very very mediocre and the first point made me suspicious was the speed of the food being prepared! Suspiciously quick! Seriously overrated prices for mediocre food and even worse service! Bad bad bad experience which really annoyed us and ruined our good mood evening.

Great place to be. Prime service, somehow Im allways served by the same and Im rrally happy from not only proffesional but also very friendly and person focused attitute to customer by mr. Markus. Beside that its really fine inside arrangament and interresting decorations its not too loud, not too tight and food is very very good.
