The best greens and carrot soufflé I’ve ever eaten in my life! The fried okra is phenomenal too. So glad I stopped. Don’t miss this spot.

OMG! My coworker told me about this place after her church member told her. I visited Saturday, April 5th, around 5 p.m. or so. I ordered the catfish and spring dinner, fried, with mac and cheese, dressing w cranberry sauce and French fries. I also had the oreo butter cake. EVERYTHING WAS SOOOOO GOOD!!!! The dressing rivaled my mom’s, and I have plans on going again next Saturday. The server was attentive, and the atmosphere was nice. They were not crowded at all, which I prefer the 1st time I visit a place. They obviously do karaoke as some point or live music because there was a stage. There is also a bar and merch! Going to see Miss Hattie is a must! I don’t know who she is or where she is, but THANK YOU for the great meal. I shall return. They also do breakfast, but the menu is not available online, nor do they have paper menus for breakfast, but I am sure it is delightful.
On a side note, my partner ordered fried green tomatoes, which I am not normally a fan of, but tried them anyway, and they did not disappoint. I will get the meatloaf on my next visit.

Every portion of this meal was exquisite!
My 1st time with carrot souffle, it’s better than a desert.
Peach cobbler will bring you to tears.
Pork chop seasoning is out of this world.
That’s about how I can explain my experience at Hattie’s
Just come down and figure it out

You have not tasted phenomenal food until you have visited this slice of heaven! You want authentic soul food…CHECK! You want to stay away from heated from a bag chain restaurants…CHECK! Delicious Gumbo that will make you want to smack somebody (not your mama obviously!) The cup of gumbo was not enough and me and the hubs were fighting over the last spoonful (make a mental note and order the bowl next time!) There is actually real seafood and great tasting sausage in that gumbo! It is all homemade from scratch! It takes dedication and hard work to continue to be consistent every time we come here! So far I have had the fried chicken is done to perfection (get the scald on that just right), meatloaf (beautifully done and so delicious), baked fish, and they never fail! The greens has the most incredible pot liquor that are fresh not canned with you guessed it some marbled pork in there (they are not messing around!) Husband loves the macaroni and cheese and beef with gravy! I love the sweet potatoes with the marshmallows that are crispy on the top as a side and their cornbread is to be savored friend and you don’t even need any butter! If you want to leave satisfied and want to impress the company your with bring them here. Chances are you will probably see us there!

Some of the best soul food I have ever had, and I’ve had a lot over the years. I had the catfish with carrot souffle and greens and my wife had the catfish and shrimp platter. Everything was well seasoned and so fresh. Rebecca, our waitress, was so friendly and patient as we looked over the menu. The dining room is clean and very spacious, with a karaoke set up at the end, for Friday Karaoke nights. They also serve To Go homemade deserts (cakes/pies) like Chocolate Oreo cake which we took home. It was moist and tasty!

This place is amazing, and I dont know why there wasn’t a constant stream of people coming in and out of it!! If you’re looking for seasoned, home cooked food,… look no further than Hatties in Foley Alabama! Upon entering the building, we were greeted warmly and welcomed. We were promptly seated, and our waitress came right over to get our drinks. She was able to answer our questions regarding the menu and provided us with the daily specials. I ordered Salisbury steak with mashed potatoes, mac and cheese, cabbage, and cornbread. My husband ordered the crumbled beef over rice with sweet potatoes, cabbage, and a roll. We had coconut cake and cookie butter cake for dessert. We also got a cup of gumbo to try. The gumbo came out as an appetizer, and it was delicious!! My husband and I shared it, and he kept asking why I didn’t order more. Our food arrived HOT… I mean piping hot and large portions. Heres my review of our food:
Salisbury steak over mashed potaoes: this was delicious! Cooked to order huge beef patty atop mashed potatoes smothered in onions and brown gravy.
Cabbage: advertised as cooked in bacon grease thos cabbage is tender and flavorful. We like pepper, so I added a little of that but otherwise seasoned well.
Mac and cheese: Baked mac and cheese with plenty of cheese. We prefer a little creamer mac and cheese, but this was good.
Sweet potatoes: just sweet enough and compliments the mac and cheese!
Crumbled beef over rice: husband like this. It had peppers and onions and brown gravy and was served over rice. He preferred the Salisbury steak, but he cleaned his place, so this was good also.
Roll and cornbread: both soft and warm. The roll is a cresent roll and was beautifully golden. The cornbread was soft and delicious.
Coconut cake: moist and delicious. Not too sweet and I believe it’s tasted a hint of cream cheese in the icing.
Cookie butter cake: this wasn’t a favorite for us. The cake was on the dry side and the icing was super sweet, actually made my teeth hurt.
We will definitely visit this place again! If you’re in the area or if you live in or around Foley, please RUN and check them out!! You won’t be disappointed. This was our favorite restaurant we visited while here.

Been wanting to try this place and I’m sure glad I did. If you’re in the mood for some good home cooked soul food this is your place. The smothered pork chops were great and their ribs are tender with a little Asian flare. Fried cabbage was good, not too greasy but just right.

We are here from Ohio. We found out about Hattie’s by searching Google – “Where do locals eat”. SO glad this place popped up. The staff is AMAZINGLY friendly. Immediately greeted as we walked in by a hostess and one of the cooks. We were fortunate enough to meet the owner, who was so gracious and friendly ! So many wonderful options to choose from ! Wife opted for navy beans and corn bread. Said it was the best she’s had in the last 15 years (since she had her mom’s). I got the Salisbury steak, with mashed potatoes and a side of Mac and cheese and candied yams. Oh my goodness ! All of it was so delicious ! We were hoping to get some of the homemade peach cobbler and ice cream, but just didn’t have the room ! We will definitely be back another day for that. What a wonderful place ! Do yourself a favor and EAT AT HATTIE’S SOUL FOOD ! You’ll be glad you did !
